Disclaimer:
First of all, I need to make a confession: I heavily rely on energy drinks for productivity. The first thing I do in the morning, as soon as I wake up, is to grab an energy drink. Without the energy boost to help me start my day, I would spend the rest of it as a sour-mood low-energy zombie.
I am not exactly addicted to this type of drinks – I could (and have, on occasion) do without them. But it wouldn’t be as cheerful and enthusiastic version of me without them. So you can say that I’m at least “dependent” on them, especially when I need to feel extrovert, social and productive in equal parts.
Of course, I am also mindful of my health, so I don’t consume just any energy drinks (definitely not Red Bull – sorry, all Red Bull fans!). This is my usual go to, when it comes to a relatively “healthy” energy boost:
The things I like about this particular brand are:
- Taste (not horrible)
- No sugar
- No taurine (that’s why I don’t drink Red Bull)
- 2500 mg of branched-chain amino acid (BCAA) – organic compounds with multiple proven health benefits – in each can
- 400 mg carnitine
- CAFFEINE!! (my favourite!)
- Vitamins: B6, C, pantothenic acid (a form of B5-vitamin), biotin (or B7), B12
- Reasonable price (about 1 euro a can, whereas other similar-quality drinks sell at €1.50–€2.00 a can)
Now, I’m about to test something new!
I have learnt by now that this natural energy drink, created by Gamma Labs, is well-known and popular among the amateur and pro-gamers alike. But I heard about G FUEL only recently, from PewDiePie’s videos, and decided to give it a try. I ordered it three weeks ago and the package has finally made it here all the way from the US and through the Swedish customs:
This is what I found inside:
- A “Starter Kit” (a cute lilac shaker cup and seven different flavours of G FUEL)
- A “Premium Pack” with 20 most popular flavours
- A free gift (since my order exceeded $35): three flavours, most popular among PewDiePie’s fans.
Since this was the first time I was ordering G FUEL, I decided not to buy a larger tub with the drink powder, but instead try and sample as many different flavours as I can. So that next time I’ll know what I like and what I don’t, and can order my favourite flavours in bulk, in tubs filled with powder, instead of these cute small one-portion packs:
I plan to make a spreadsheet and grade one new flavour a day, depending on how much I liked it: 1 – not much; 2 – it’s okay; 3 – love it!
(I would try one tonight, but it’s getting late here and I don’t want risk it. Normally I don’t consume any caffeinated drinks past 5 pm)
Now, let’s review what’s good about these drinks:
- Light package. Since they’re sold in powder form, I could easily carry home the package with 30 packs. When I buy my usual energy drinks, I rarely can carry more than 6 in my hands from the supermarkets.
- No sugar
- 19 different antioxidants from fruit extracts
- Gluten-free
- 10 different vitamins
- only 5 g carbs (25 kCal per serving)
- reasonable price (it came down to roughly $1.50 per serving, including the shipment costs, for my first order)
Also, although it’s about the drinks themselves, I really loved the user experience on their website. The gamification of the purchasing process was smooth and fun, and was actually quite enjoyable, believe it or not!
Now, if you want to try G FUEL for yourself and score a bonus on your first order, feel free to use my referral link: http://rwrd.io/d4zchmj
Also, if you want a 10% discount on your entire order, use the promo code GLORIA or PEWDIEPIE (any of these two will give you 10% off).
And, if you want me to review my experience and the different flavours of G FUEL in the future, please leave a comment below and I will do so, if I see that there’s interest for this type of content among my followers.
Last time I tried energy drinks I had palpitations. I forgot the name of it but it was in a bottle with an lime yellow colored liquid. Although there are times that I am tempted to try an energy drink when I need to finish something very important and getting sleepy.

Yes, I get them if I drink Red Bull or any of the cheaper versions, filled with sugar and taurine. I recommend that you test a higher-end versions of the “sports energy drinks” and see if you still get the same effects. I don’t know the brands available in your country, but here in Sweden the most widespread are Celsius (although they now released a few cheaper flavours with both sugar and taurine in them, which was a huge disappointment), NOCCO (they are really good, but pricey), and AminoPRO (the ones I referred to in the beginning of my post).
When I was in Russia and tried to look for similar drinks, all I could find on the supermarket shelves was sugar-packed, taurine-packed shit. :(

Thank you, my friend! By the way, I’m following the news from Venezuela every day. Right now there are large demonstrations happening in Caracas, on both sides. I hope and pray for a positive and non-violent outcome of this turbulent process for your country and its people.
Stay safe!

Things are not easy at all. the ususrpadores delinquents do not want to give the power and they still have the arms, the problem is not the concentrations.
The problems and the persecutions they do at night. 90 people are missing and then they are found dead. as well as more than 900 people arrested.
In a march that we celebrated on January 23, I managed to save myself from a persecution, it was not easy.
In today's I came back with a large group.
When they are large groups, the government delinquents do not stop us, I am already in my home.
But I'm still in a fight fight. I want a better country for my daughters.
Many criticize the government of the United States.
I do not criticize it. Thanks to them we are closer to freedom.
We do not know at what price but that is preferable.
that being subjected to hunger is not easy to lie down without eating at least me ... guaranteeing even a meal for my daughters.
The end of them is near ..

I do not drink energy drinks, I prefer to get enough sleep))) Did you manage to try something already?

The first test is coming up tomorrow! :)
That the thing: no matter how much and how well I sleep, I still cannot muster the same positiveness and social confidence as I do when I have drunk an energy drink in the morning. There’s something in it that activates something in my brain that helps me maintain a positive attitude and enthusiasm throughout the day…

I'm telling myself, it's fruity therefore better than normal energy drinks... lol!
No, I don't take any energy drinks myself... normally preferring water (on waking, before and after meals, etc) but my go to drink when I want something other than water is coca cola (yes, my baddd!) or I could have an ice lemon tea! :)

Do you also drink Coca-Cola or Pepsi-Cola sometimes? Those soft drinks are loaded with caffeine too. And so are black tea and green tea.

Nope, no tea for me, occasionally will have Coca-Cola but not as strong as black coffee though...

Sometimes a little too much, I think. :) Despite the age restrictions (in Sweden on can only buy an energy drink if they're at least 14 years old), I often see school kids drinking them as we used to drink soda. They're constantly caffeinated, from morning till evening. No wonder many have problems with focus and concentration! And when they start mixing energy drinks with alcohol at parties, it becomes ever so much more dangerous to their health.

I love that you are going the healthy way about energy drinks. So much damage is done with the other stuff.
I would like to know the experience you had with these ones. My husband drinks Monsters and I have tried giving him samples of the other ones but he lost them since they were so small and doesn't seem to care to find them either. If I am going to purchase something again for him, I would like to know more about it. The packages for the powdered stuff where is small tube like wrappings and is easy to lose.

Thank you, @foxyspirit. Well, in my subjective opinion Monster drinks are somewhere in-between the energy drinks that I consume and those that I avoid. I do drink them on occasion, but not very often. Maybe once a month or even more seldom. And when I do, I only go for sugar-free ones. I had first tried them, when I was studying in Japan. They used to hand out free samples outside of Shinjuku station, when they launched Monster Ultra Energy. As I was getting tired in school after a couple of hours of language classes, that Monster drink was a nice boost to my energy level.
Well, if you check G Fuel's website, you will see that they also have "tubs" – larger jars with powder. Your husband would need to mix a scoop of the powder with water in a shaker. If he cannot be bothered to prepare it, then maybe it won't work for him...
I googled a bit around what energy drinks are sold on the Canadian market, but I couldn't find the ones similar to NOCCO, Celsius or AminoPRO that we have in Sweden. Maybe they do exist, and I'm just bad at finding them online. :)

There are a few healthy ones but cost an arm and a leg. This one is less expensive and looks more ideal than what he is taking now.
Thank you checking it out ^_^

I'm a consumer of GFuel for over one year and I really have nothing bad to say about it. It helps me both to focus on important things but also gives me strength on my trips! And let's not forget about these gaming nights <3

I've never heard of this because I don't do energy drinks, but get my caffeine from coffee and tea. But this sounds intriguing, and I'd love to read your review once you've tried all the flavors! 😃

Alright, then I'm going to write one in about a month from now. :D I've tried four different flavours so far, really liked two of them, liked another one, and disliked one (Pink Lemonade). I'll write a more detailed review, once I have gathered enough "data" for it. ;)
