It just keeps growing. I had never been to this part of the city until the taxi was given the wrong address.
I got to see a part of Dalian under heavy paced development right along the coast line. The Greater Dalian Area has about 6 million people how many more are they expecting?
It's been really hazy lately which doesn't help with photo while moving but i found this part of Dalian intriguing because of all the mass building projects I've seen but this stretch just seemed to go on forever; non stop building sites.
From residential sites still in the early stages of being erected.
Huge elevated motorways to hurry people from the suburbs to the down town core and beyond.
The light rail train passes by here so they will be adding more stops. Dalian just opened a subway system last year and it's still growing. I expect it will eventually reach out here some day.
Everywhere I look I can see several cranes near and in the distance. Not a place in this city is not seeing growth, I don't even think it's in the top ten most booming cities in China. Well, Dalian is great location for trade. It's not a crazy busy as other cities, yet.
As I get closer to the downtown the buildings I pass are more complete then the further away ones.
And then we get to where things are modern and well established. Still not very busy as this is area is mostly residences and the shopping and schools won't be right on the this particular road as it hugs the precious coastline making it too pricey.
China love's to say they are a developing country but in this regard aren't all countries developing? I mean is there a country, society or modern culture right now that's saying "OK we have achieved all there is to achieve, let the rest of the world catch up now". Of course not all countries are constantly developing.
Interesting reading and viewing. Most people are totally oblivious to the level of development in China. I often wonder how long this phase will last?
Will it go on forever, or will there be an economic crash? How much debt are they accumulating from this construction boom?

That doesn't surprise me @solarguy, the Chinese are long term thinkers and planners.

Thanks solarguy. Tell me, is that smog or fog? Also, is that a housing bubble, or will people actually live in those accomodations?

The construction there is some fast and amazing. I heard in Nanjing they had a tunnel done in less than 2 years.
