I have spent so many years of my time curating daily, looking at the new feed every chance I get, whenever I see a good post I instantly upvote it, leave an original and thoughtout comment and even some replies to other comments in the same post while upvoting those too. I spend so much time making sure to read the full post or watch the full video or look into detail at the paintings and drawings users post and barely any gives me any credit for it.
Every time I find something amazing I want to share I make sure to do it at the most optimal time, make sure I source the original if it's not something original of my own and then I refresh the page constantly to see how well my post is doing and how much I'm being rewarded. I have never spammed, never uploaded the same content twice and always made sure to respond to everyone. Sometimes I get downvoted with no explanation, sometimes I get upvoted too much with no explanation, it's all good, I wasn't doing it for that anyway, it's the attention economy after all.
I have never received a thank you for doing such a great work curating a certain tag or helping grow a certain community. All this time I spent helping shape the front-end but at the end of the day I have nothing to show for it. Worst of all, all those rewards I earned got hyperinflated and any newbie that is just as active as I've been for many years can get the same amount of points as I have in total in a fraction of the time spent.
Why is this happening? Why are my worthless karma points even more worthless now, Reddit? WTF?

Honestly you're right, it's a weird thing with rewards, I blame bad curation and autovoting. Would've sent beneficiaries to @teamocd but noticed in the end busy didn't have that option yet. It's weird when posts you don't put a lot of effort in or have something big to say get a lot of rewards and others don't, I'm sure we can be better curators over time, many ex/curating bid bots seem to not know what curation is which I don't blame them for.

You are one of the best curators here on Steem and some people just don’t know that because they never look at authors outside their circle. We have seen what you do on the platform and we are grateful for it. Heh, you know I’m already thankful for your support but I’m gonna say it again: thank you for everything that you do to improve Steem as a whole. Promoting the platform on Reddit and even had GU players join, onboarding users and guiding them, making programs/contests for small authors to grow (ocd), are some of the things you do aside from curating.

What I am interested in (helping people earn more income with option trading) no one finds worthy of upvoting or reading. Now I can not even post to receive SBI upvotes because Heajin has enough down-vote power on his own to squash my measly $1 rewards.
I hope one day steem can be more like reddit (maybe through tokenbb.io forum style) where it will be easier for the average person to participate in daily topics and rewarded. This would probably attract more users thereby increasing the value of steem.

The only thing that keeps me on Steemit is the other kinds of value... namely, being able to consume news and content that speaks freely without significant censorship (for now).
The "monetary" reward value here (so far) is worse than low... it's insultingly bad.
If things are to change, more people will need to find OTHER value in addition to the "monetary" reward... which, like a slot machine, makes for horribly bad game-play for anyone not hopelessly addicted to gambling.
I actually ignore Steemit for longer intervals when the only posts are about Steem (although, to be honest, once in a blue moon I read some of those too).

Random voting is a little silly. I will remove it if I later find out it was something bad.
I have no problem with vote trading or self voting. If it is a few people that is fine. I just don't want to see all voting power used for this.
We get around 12 full 100% votes a day. I think keeping things like trading under half my total vote power is fine. I have never been above 25% and am more like 10% these days (not even 2 full votes going random, to close friends/ regular sponsors or myself).
I've asked @acidyo and several other people that really don't like vot trading to say how much is too much. I don't know if they want to say this. 10% to 50% is my guess.
I think people can do what they want with vote power.
If others downvote, I always want to find out why it is happening and what they want from me. Then I decide. I regularly ask these people downvoting to discuss and sometimes they do.

I agree with you on some points and think a few self votes and vote trades are fine.
I didn't know they have such a strong opinion against any vote trading. I thought it was only excessive self voting and vote trading they don't like.
I used to delegate to ocdb but stopped around 2 months ago when they changed their system and started downvoting. I don't delegate even 1 sp to anyone now.
Last month I automatically voted for curangel and ocd daily posts. I actually voted for many curation project daily posts.
However, I stopped that Nov 1st and now I only support a couple developers and the community I am in with auto votes.
I also follow vote trails of three accounts I respect. This month those guys aren't included but I followed their trails before (upvotes only, I will never follow downvotes trail).
I am trying to improve. I will not agree to never vote for them or their projects again, but I won't automatically vote their posts again and I don't delegate anymore at all.
I will vote for them if I find the post useful. Sometimes I read it and find good posts they share or curate. It is how I find new authors. Resteeming, too.
