Game night!

Nothing like getting your butt whooped by a 7 year old! :)

It takes me back to simpler times.
Playing checkers with my grandmother. My children playing checkers with her.
I remember weekends of cards with aunts and uncles, grandparents and close friends.

I reflect and see how things are today. Running every where, engaged in electronics, very little laughter, exhaustion.

I really have come to love the down time of winter. Playing games, being creative, cooking, canning, reading, even preparing for spring.

It has taken me 4 years to become adjusted to the daily cycles, the moon cycles and seasonal cycles. No longer am I just surviving, but really living. Being. Peaceful.

We are so blessed, each one of us.
I encourage everyone to ungrip, rest and enjoy this winter season!!

Much love to all!

This is what is beautiful about homesteading. It's about life and sharing good times with family and friends. The pace is slower and life becomes enjoyable. No rat race on the homestead. Life can be busy but we make time for the important things. Our priorities have changed.

It's a wonderful blessing! I have grown children, and remember the game nights until it wasn't cool anymore. I agree that homesteading, living with the land brings peace and balance.
Wishing you the best of this wonderful season.
Look forward to following your journey!

Cherish those times my friend. Both of my boys are all grown up and I truly miss playing with them when they were younger. I pray one day to be a grandfather so that I can cherish time with children even more! Bravo. <3

It's a true gift. I miss my grown children and grandchildren. Hoping to see them more in the future! Every day is a gift. I often wish I had made this move sooner. I have come realize all is in divine order. I can see grandbabies for you! Makes my heart smile!!

I did not realize you had older children and grandchildren. <3 Thank you for the vision. I'm not so sure that will happen anytime soon. lol
