The other day I installed Bitshares which is a distributed, decentralized currency exchange to see if I could find a way to convert some steem to fiat currency on my own. Through the process I discovered just how complex this arena can be. I started playing with computers over 35 years ago and worked in the industry for over 20 years. I must admit, I really struggle with this new technology. The process is too complex and with too many steps to make it all work for those without specific training or experience. Message to developers; if you want these platforms to be available for the masses, you need to make it much more simple and have it work like a utility.

A utility is something that is useful for anybody, no matter their background, education or experience. The reason the grid is so successful is that they worked hard to turn everything into a utility. Need power, plug into the wall. Need money, use your card. The end user does not need to know how it worked, all they care about is that it does. Get the point? Trading in cryptocurrencies is not yet a utility. It is complex as hell.

So what about freedom? Can freedom be turned into a utility? Can we find ways to make it easier for people to find freedom without them knowing all the technical details hidden in the background? If we can, should we do the work to make it available for others or does utility actually create dependency which causes more harm?
I wonder if the founding fathers in the uSA thought that by creating a constitution, they could build a framework to turn freedom into a utility. They could dedicate a few individuals to work on maintaining that freedom while everyone else could focus on life. The downside to that idea is our tendency to surrender the hard stuff to others. Let's face it, we are lazy and we don't like to work. We will do what ever we can to make life easier, to the point where we have built machines, technology, fictional constructs and all sorts of systems to accomplish that goal. But it all got corrupted because people don't comprehend how it all works. Our systems are so complex that only the specialists have a clue, which provided a framework for corruption, greed and power rooted in our dependency on them.
I just had a long hard talk with my wife this morning about where we see life unfolding. We have been working on our journey towards freedom for 15 years and we see no significant shifts happening any time soon. We have lived off grid for 11 years feeling that the big shift is about to happen at any time, yet the world keeps right along with the current slavery agenda. We decided that it is time make plans for the next 20 - 30 years. It appears the world is addicted to utility and convenience, no matter how much dependency and slavery is attached to it.
In the mean time I must admit that when we moved off grid, the learning curve was steep, but manageable. The knowledge and experience that we gained through the experience was actually fairly simple, far less complex than the constructs we created in society. Through this simplification of our life, we found ways to survive. Freedom is found through this simplification process and unplugging from the utility. When we UNGRIP, we are literally unplugging from the utility that the feudal masters have created over time.
The problem is that we are getting tired. Freedom was not meant to be done alone. Freedom is meant to be done with other people, our family, clans, tribes and nations. These constructs have been destroyed through the colonization process because the colonizers recognize the power and influence of these relationships.
The Tawatinaw Initiative for Peace and Independence (TIPI) is an idea that I started working on over two years ago to help with the decolonization process and to bring healing, independence, freedom and peace back to our real communities. To accomplish this goal, the four stewards are working on building a curriculum to help people make the transition, the first stop; healing themselves and building the tribe. In my view, freedom should not be a utility as each individual is intimately responsible for knowing what it means, how it looks, feels and lives.
To learn how to be free requires that each individual fully submerse themselves in freedom to learn how it works, experience how it feels and fully take responsibility for maintaining it at all times. Freedom should never be surrendered to somebody else to look after, which means no work should be done to turn it into a utility! Doing so turns that individual into a feudal serf and perpetuates the violence and coercion of the fictional construct I call 'the state'. If you really want freedom, it requires work, lots and lots of work!
Find somebody to study with as it requires years of apprenticeship to learn how to be free, especially after thousands of years of colonial damage, brainwashing and extortion. Then teach others how to do the same. We owe it to ourselves and each other!

I see a trend where people do want freedom but as you said it is so much hard work. We as humans have become incredibly lazy. It is easier to let the others think for us that way we don't need to learn the new. The powers that be like it that way. It is easier to control the masses if they don't understand how things work.

I've been holding my breath for about 15 years now, maybe longer. There has been a few times that I thought "This is it!", but then nothing changes. Soo.... I'm kind of stumped too.
THe original idea of the Constitution was to limit the power of the Federal government to 20 things and all other powers went to the states. The Founders knew that to combine power with money in a centralized government would spell doom for the young Republic. Unfortunately the ink was not dry on that document before men began to twist it to their advantage.
Freedom? All I can say is keep teaching the principles. Blessings.

I've found that the people around me want things, but they don't want to do the work. They don't want to make the necessary sacrifices.
For example, I've had two people recently ask about my garden. They've wanted a garden for years. They've purchased a couple plants and stuck them in the yard and got very limited productivity. So I tell them about amending their soil, attracting pollinators, choosing the right seed, companion planting, proper placement for sun and shade.
The time and energy required is to much sacrifice. They quickly grow bored with the conversation. They'll probably buy a couple plants next year, plant them in the same place in the yard and have the same disappointing results. Maybe they'll just give up on it all together. After all, it's much easier to buy some canned veggies and frozen berries and leave all the work to someone else.
I feel like it's the same thing with freedom. It's a lot of work, and a lot of sacrifice. If freedom means providing for yourself, I think the masses will always pay for convenience with their freedom.

I see a trend about people taking freedom more seriously than before, especially because of the fact today we are much more informed about a lot of abuses that are done by the institutions responsible for keeping everything in order (the governments).
Technology is an important tool to keep us free because it offers everyone a way to access ways of communication difficult to suppress and now thanks to cryptos it also offers a way of actually exchanging monetary value without taking part in the traditional system.
By the way, I just noticed the virtue circle and just joined the discord channel :)

This freedom takes many forms, i am off- grid and enjoy this freedom but it does come with hard word it is not without a cost. I hope Steem/Steemit is a freeing output that is also much needed

It is perhaps impossiblw without support of at least someone local. I'm gonna do it but it will probably "kill" me. Good.

Where technology and freedom can go together might be 0xΩ. Behind this project is the idea of bringing all religions together through a blockchain based on Ethereum.

If they are bringing all the religions together through a blockchain, then I'm out of here.
