Hempcrete Tinyhome build continues

in ungrip •  7 years ago

For those who follow along, I spent the weekend helping our dear friend, neighbour and clan member @harvardhomestead with her tiny house build.  That is her up there hammering away!  She is a very intelligent, articulate and skilled individual.  I highly recommend her blog. It is one of the best blogs on steemit!

You can see that the hempcrete walls are started on the bottom floor.  The house sits on a modified trailer which makes it portable!  Interesting design.  I'm helping her finish the framing so that she can do the walls and have some shelter by this spring as she is moving off grid in a couple months.  So the rush is on now to get it to a point where she can stay warm and dry.

I hope to have the fascia boards on, ladders built and the roof sheeting on this week.  All time is gifted and I refuse to keep score.  I have no idea how many hours I spent on her project.  Our needs are met and it is my duty to ensure other peoples needs are met as well.  Given that we live off grid, I have lots of time to help and serve others. I do so freely because I can.  I share to encourage or influence others to do the same.  That is how we build strong community.

Pay it forward!

I love this so much <3 All of it. The friendship and gifting of help, the incredible strength and determination of @harvardhomestead and this amazing little hempcrete house....pure inspiration and love. Thank you <3 <3 xo

I am interested to see how this hempcrete house takes shape. I am looking at other uses for hempcrete as well. I think it would be good for building here in earthquake zones. I am a firm believer in paying it forward. Kudos to you for leading the way.

Keep us posted in your progress Ceci 💖 super exciting material to plan projects with.

Always great to see you around. For some reason, just your name -- Ceci. Makes me feel happy! I think it is also because i remember you as one of the first people that were a complete stranger, but you so kindly interacted with me here! Have a great day friend 💜🦋

Thank you my friend. I think it would do great in earthquake zones as the hemp can flex without breaking. It is not like cement where it can hold a weight as it will compress, but the ability to flex and compress without breaking far exceeds that of cement. It is astounding material. I'm impressed with it so far.

Many hearts here on Steemit yearn for such a home. I appreciate you bringing this vision to us. Hempcrete...another way we can join a better future. blessings.

Indeed. It is all possible. Are you going to join us on the radio show? I suspect this project will be a topic of conversation for sure!

Yes. I'm marking it on my calendar. Looking forward to it.

Great to see progress on this project! Thanks for sharing your inspiring ways @wwf & @harvardhomestead. It will feel so good! And, be such a reward to move in, and realize a dream coming true 💖 doesn't get any better then that 🦋

I agree Jill! There is no better feeling that moving into a home that you built with your own hands. It is the most wonderful feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction. Especially when you can do it without mortgage or debt of any kind. That is icing on the cake!

....mmmm icing 😉 🎂

You have taught us through your writings that life is very beautiful if we minus the authority from it means if we confront the the system that helps to protect feudal lords only. After looking at the infrastructure of this wonderful house of @harvardhomestead i am convinced that we can freely live on the Creators Land with our will. Thanks a lot Rob aka @wwf for changing many lives around the globe <3 <3

We are the land my friend. It was given to us to live upon by Creator. It should never have been taken away by some authority. That is one of the most evil mistakes we ever made on this planet and throughout history. That mistake has resulted in wars, genocide, slavery, poverty and all sorts of suffering.

This is awesome! I wonder how much $$ hempcrete costs. Hemp everything~!!

What is the advantage of hempcrete vs concrete?

Where is this?
