Criminalizing Dissent.

The trials are starting for the folks that were kettled in the J-20 protests.

They are making an example of the first ones up for trial, others have had their charges reduced to misdemeanors.

61 years for being in a crowd seems a little much, to me.

The 'state' admits that the defendents are not accused of destroying property, this is strictly being punished for being masked up in a crowd.

If this passes as 'justice', it is a shameful situation.

Shame on us for not joining the protests.

Interesting, earlier this year, I heard something about Sessions trying to unmask everyone who visited the Disrupt J20 site. Didn't think it would amount to anything.

This was a round up of folks in the wrong place at the right time.

Shit like this is right out of the pages of 1984. resteemed

It is the inevitability of rule by force.

I would stay away from all protests.
The protests in the streets do nothing, unless we are going to tar and feather the politicians and run them out on a rail.

"Let them protest all they want, as long as the keep paying their taxes" (misquote, but apropos)

The injustices are already too deep. Justice is no longer in the court rooms. Know that and avoid all crowds.

Yes, but it gets the sleeple out of their dreams and into the streets.
If we don't, at least, shake some pitchforks and make ourselves felt, do you think they worry about the walls getting stormed?

Street protests are an important tactic, imo.

If walking down the street exercising your first amendment gets you punished what kind of nightmare scenario is that?
Where did all the freedom go?
I remember when the sheriff used to send us home for being kids rather than the big house.
