The last bus of the day

in unintendedpoetry •  6 years ago

It is raining and I am seeking for shelter
I look around and nobody is looking up
Protecting their faces from the clear drips
Buried in their coats and in their phones

It is late and everybody is on their way to somewhere
Towards home from a successfull or disappointing night
I can not help to stop and wonder
Where are all these people going and what are their stories

Was he visiting family or perhaps his wife is ill?
Will he reach home by himself, of is somebody with him
Is that a smile of joy, or because he is just in the accepting phase

I seem to know those students sitting there together
Most likely they are heading towards the same place as I am
They look like crap, like a bus has hit them
Is the study too rough, or did they go to party off the daily stress?

Why is that mother with her baby still awake?
Could it be that she does not have a house to go to?
Do those fake nails cost more than the monthly costs of diapers for her
And most of all, where is the father?

The busdriver looks tired
It is his last round of the day
I hope for him his wife is still awake when he reaches home
Because after all, everybody deserves to have somebody waiting for them

I wonder/ponder the same sorts of things when I’m out an about. A lovely piece of (unintended) poetry 😁

Sometimes I also wonder if all these people are annoyed that I am staring at them so much. But especially in the night everybody is so pure or something

I was in that bus for a minute! And with the pexels photograph it was like I wanted to sit with the OLD man anfmd just talk to him 😉

Pexels and pixabay do really have a super nice collection of good pictures that enhance the post so often!

Glad I was able to take you into the bus girly!

Aw, how lovely. Tiny ponderings. A bit judgey about the woman with the nails and the absent Dad, but hey, I'd do the same haha!

I love this bit - it made me fly right into that moment!

Thanks for the compliment madame!!

yeah observing is often also with some judgement in there when you are wondering their story. On the other hand...how often to you see a daddy with a baby in the bus at night? ;)

This is lovely! I too, wonder about others quite a lot. How relatable!

It is so nice to sit and observe others on their journey. And you can learn so much from observing human behavior!

Just the fact that public transportation works how it should is amazing. You know how crappy transportation is at the Caribbean!
