With the stock prices of hot IT firms surging, CEOs at the helm of those corporations appear to have amassed money at a considerably higher rate than others. Adding $20 billion to his net worth, Jeff Bezos became the second-richest person in the United States, with a net worth of $67 billion.
His net worth now stands at $55.5 billion, making him the fourth richest person in history. Oracle CEO Larry Ellison, on the other hand, had his first appearance on the list since 2007. $49.3 billion is his net worth
Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, CEO of Bloomberg L.P., has a net worth of $45 billion and ranks sixth on the list.
In total, these six multi-billionaires have a combined wealth of $363.3 billion, the majority of which is held in the firms they started and which they have invested in. In spite of this, a portion of their wealth is invested in property. For example, through his private investment firm, Cascade, Mr. Gates owns a $170 million Washington residence, various horse ranches across the United States, and shares in a few luxury hotel chains.
Take a look at the homes of the world's six wealthiest men and women:
There are 81 billion dollars in Bill Gates' wealth, according to Forbes. The place where I currently reside is Medina, Washington.
Most of his time is spent within a 66,000-square-foot mansion called Xanadu 2.0 in Medina, Washington, which is named after the estate of Citizen Kane's protagonist. The home commands a commanding vantage point over Lake Washington. The seven-year construction process and $63.2 million budget cost Mr. Gates a lot of money. According to public records, he purchased the property for $2 million in 1988, but it is now valued at an estimated $170 million.
Valued at $67 billion, Jeff Bezos Medina, Washington is where I'm from.
As he built his e-commerce company, Mr. Bezos, 52, amassed a sizable real estate portfolio, which earned him the 26th spot on The Land Report's list of the wealthiest landowners in the United States in 2013. He owns a 165,000-acre ranch in West Texas, a waterfront home in Washington state, three linked apartments in Manhattan's Century Tower, and a 12,000-square-foot Beverly Hills estate that has Tom Cruise as a neighbor, according to Forbes.
5.35 acres of land and 29,000 square feet of living space make up his mansion in Medina, Washington, which is located close to Amazon's headquarters. An additional 4,500-square-foot boathouse on Lake Washington and a caretaker's cottage complete the property.
6.5.5 billion dollars Warren Buffett's net worth Where I'm from: Omaha, NE
Mr. Buffett, the world's most successful investor, has a reputation for humility, despite the fact that he owns a large number of real estate interests.
In 1958, he purchased a house in Omaha, Nebraska, for $31,500. Since then, Mr. Buffett has made it his home. For the man who has a net worth of more than $65.5 billion, the 6,500-square-foot house, initially completed in 1921, had multiple expansions.
Zuckerberg is the fourth.
$ 55.5 billion in total Palo Alto, California, is where I'm from.
This philanthropic tycoon is the youngest person ever to amass such a fortune. In addition to his Palo Alto house, he owns a 9.9 million dollar pied-a-terre in San Francisco's Dolores Park neighborhood.
Mr. Zuckerberg, 32, paid $7 million in 2011 for his first Palo Alto house, a 5,000-square-foot Craftsman. In the years that followed, he paid $43.8 million for the four properties that surrounded his to better protect his solitude. There is still no progress on his idea for demolishing and re-building those four houses.
Larry Ellison is number five.
