A Rumination on Unity
We are
So we think
“I AM”
But “I AM” is the illusion
That binds us
In corpoREAL form
It fears being harmed
So it puts up barriers
To protect it from the pain
Inflicted by other “I AMs”
Sensors of sight, smell,
Touch, taste, sound and spirit
Ever vigilant and on guard
Against that which inflicts pain
But those walls
Only become a prison
That limits and enslaves
What seems like a nemesis
Is simply one who seeks
To unbalance the equation
You have constructed
Around yourself
That has become your ego
Your self identity
Challenging you to look beyond
What you think you are
To discover your own reflection
In everyone and everything
Around you
Searching out with your feelings
To come to the realization
That while each of us
Is entirely unique
Everything is already connected
And we aren’t really all that different
After all
“I AM”
As we feel
We are
