The issue of the origin of the universe is interesting and it has captivated scientists and thinkers for decades. The basis is big bang theory that assumed about 13.8 billions years ago, the Universe started as a singularity which was very small and highly dense ⁴. It grew rapidly in a stage called cosmic phase.
Energy and subatomic particles were the original elements that later formed atomic structures ⁴. Over time, the atoms formed stars and galaxies ⁴. These lead to formation of stars which, in turn, created heavier elements such as carbon, oxygen, and iron among others. Secondly, these elements were ejected along with the stars that exploded a

If you're interested in learning more about the origins of the elements in the universe, I recommend checking out "The Cosmic Alchemy: Dr. J. C. Johnson et al., “Unveiling the Origins of the Universe’s Elements”. This is an easily readable book about the Big Bang, star and galaxy formation and making heave elements via supernova
