In the US I give my kids a budget at the market and let them do their own shopping. I feel like this teaches them about math, budgeting, and making wise nutritional chouces. It also gives them some wiggle room to make choices mom would not always make.

Here in Mexico Bill has been the only one (of my 2 kids) brave enough to buy something in pesos, although he has yet to use Spanish while making his purchase. His exposure to a new language, a new culture, new money, and new foods is exhilerating to watch. I cannot wait to return later this year!!!

Very cool! He will learn spanish after a short while... I was 11 when I got imersed in Venuzuela for close to 6 months. I speak spanish fluently still today 30 years later!

Unfortunately we return to Tejas in a week :(

Oh no why the sad face... it's ok ain't it? Either way what an awesome experience for the little ones.

I'm a bit of a traveler, got the bug a long long time ago and it won't go away (well, I won't let it). So many people have told me I will have to stop traveling once I have kids....Haha, our little 3 year old homie has been to more countries so far than most of those people! You and I prove these guys wrong, I live it!

Anarchapulco?

What an experience and real education for you and the family. I am sure you are having a great time and expanding the horizons for the kids of today is what we should all be thinking and working towards. Safe travels!

I have expanded so much since arriving here. We need to experience the world to really understand what it means to be human imo.

I think that is true too. I traveled a lot when the kids were little but just around the western states. Wish I'd had broader horizons back then. I think it would have helped us all appreciate the bigger picture. Appreciate seeing the pics and stories of others taking advantage of what they've been given. @samstonehill is great with pictures of his locations. I grab a look whenever I see a post of his. He was in Bali but now is in the south of France and I had no idea the beauty to be hold in S. France.

I follow him!!!!! He is amazing!!!!
