Amazing Adjustments That Have Happened To My Life Since I Found Steemit

I heard steemit for the first time in August, My bro @otemzi told me about but then I was reluctant about it as my first impression was its one of those ponzi scheme as we in Nigerians we've been channeled with lots of ponzi scheme, which always crash and people lose a lot of money, my mindset with anything that has to do with online was at a low. Fast forward to 15th of December when I returned to spend the holidays with my family, I saw my bro @otemzi made some transactions and it got my interest then I asked him to tell me what it's all about, he told me and I realized its not same as those ponzi as you don't spend a dime, all that's is needed it's your time and interest in making good contents. Quickly I signed up and in about two days my account was verified and thus began my steem journey. I wasted no time because I spend lengthy of hours on facebook, tweeting, whatsapp but none return money to me, and I spend money almost every week in subscribing to a data plan, so when I saw something that would yield me return doing what I love to do, I was excited and with high moral.

Starting out is frustrating as I take out time to make content, I currently have a lecture series on designing resume, it is frustrating because my post weren't yielding, I like what I do but the expectations were high and as such when I wasn't seeing returns it got me down, then I went with my brother to our first steemit meetup held in Warri mall, Warri, Delta State, Nigeria. Where I met some oldies, people who have been on the platform for sometime now, @destinysaid

I wouldn't want to go on the list, as it will take forever, we were about sixty in total, and we received lectures about steemit, and one of the speakers encourage us not to go about steeming for the purpose of making money as we might end up being disappointed but to do it cause we enjoy it, I pondered on that statement for the rest of the day, and it changed my mindset, so I began steeming not with the sole aim of earning but because I enjoy it, now one may ask how do I do it, simple. I simply create post that I find interesting, post that catches my interest and the journey has been so good, I became interactive on communities on discord, telegram and steemit.chat and so far I've met some interesting people, creative people although we haven't met on ground but the bond and connection is there.

So in conclusion steemit has changed my mindset to things, especially listening before making conclusions, opening my mind to new idea, people and most importantly love, I've seen some love that I can't even fathom, one that struck me most was something @anonymous.donor did, he competed with someone for an auction, and his competitor clearly wanted the painting but each time he kept doubling the bid until the competitor couldn't raise it, but what got me he asked the person auctioning the painting to his competitor after paying for it, that's simply amazing. I've also seen how people touch lives via this platform.

So keep steeming and keep the hope alive.
