Hello everyone, I saw this title a few times these days, while browsing steemit. In the beginning of the year (and everything else, to be honest) I love nothing more than being grateful for what I already have.
I've read so many blogs on this subject, and I can see the attitude of gratitude spreading on the platform. I like it so much, that I decided to be a part of it.
As I could find out, we can all thank @surpassinggoogle for the idea, and if I am wrong, well then just saying hello.
Let me start by saying that I don't really have any social network interest, and I only have one account on Instagram and Linkedin (that's it, no Facebook, Twitter or anything else). Further on, I've quit my job few months before I found steemit, and I came here to explore my creativity, and never really counted on the "make money" part of it.
I loved it from the first day, and here are few reasons why:
1. I get to be creative:
Being a law student really drained my creativity, or better yet suffocated it with tons of books, strict laws and professors. It's a profession where there is zero room for being different. Law is written down, you job is to learn to overcome it. And so, for many years I had no time for writing, reading, painting or anything resembling creative activity. Coming here, and making time in each day to read great posts, and make an effort to write a few, made all the difference in the world for me. Suddenly, inspiration came in every form, conversation, photo, smell, event.. All my bottled up creation desires came to the surface, and I began to write and read again.
2. My English got better:
Not that it was bad, or that it is perfect now, but I am very proud how much my English improved. I see that while writing, it takes me less time to put my thoughts to words, I have bigger vocabulary and I can recognize great writing while reading other blogs. All in all, a massive improvement, and I hope it will get even better.
3. I became more confidant:
I was never a shy person, let's be honest. I am pretty loud, and talk way too much, but there is something empowering about putting your thinking for others to see. Especially my type of blog, where I talk a lot about my personal life, feelings, events, analyze relationships, and so on. But strangely enough, I never felt fear while pouring my heart out. I became very comfortable with who I am many years ago, and I am completely ok when others don't agree with me.
4. I've met wonderful people:
From the day one, I interacted with many people. I didn't agree with everyone, but there are few that I consider my friends, even if I've never met them personally. Those people (I don't want to mention their names, because I don't want to bother anybody, or forget to mention somebody) were amazing support on the platform. Each of them in their own way helped me to do better, and made me a better blogger and person (yes, person). To them, and to all future friends I say - Thank you! My intention is to help others as much as you helped me.
5. I've found myself again:
I do believe that you should work on yourself every day, for the rest of your life. And that being said, I must confess that this is one of the best things that have happened to me. I am grateful because Steemit promotes artist and original authors, and I am so happy to be a part of it.
The list can go on for days, but let's stop while we can :)
With love,
Tamara
This really is a different kind of social networking platform. I never enjoyed Facebook, Instagram, etc- but #Steemit really resonates with me. I’ve found that there is a real sense of community here and comradery. Nice post- definitely enjoyed reading- since I could identify with the content.

I can totally relate with you on the creative front. I was in medical school for a few years and it really stripped away my souls in ways that did not serve me! Steemit has truly been a place to explore myself in numerous creative ways. I just love how interactive it is alongside the fact that we are literally exchanging real value with each other. It's the right place at the right time for sure!
Thanks for the positive post Tamara! I'd love to hear your thoughts about my recent post: [INTERACTIVE MIND GAME] This Association Game Will Improve Your Mental Performance And Get You Into A Flow State!
