Incredible Bond Between Monkeys And Humans

I was sniffing around for something to post today when I found these.

Certain tribes of the indigenous people of the Amazon forest, where monkey makes up a hugely important part of their diet have been found to have close ties and bonds with. In hunting these Monkeys for food, the babies tend to cling to their mothers always even after it has been shot. When the mother’s body is collected the baby is taken and kept as a pet.

A strong bond then forms between the baby monkey and it’s new ‘parent’, which is usually a woman in the community who is given the monkey. The monkey goes everywhere its new mother goes and spend most of its time on her head. As they grow older and more independent, they move around more and between people; although they remain firmly bonded to their particular host.

The love and bond between people and their monkeys depicts the deep relationship between indigenous people of the Amazon and the natural world.
