Street Photography: Dinagsa 2018 Street Merry Makers

...Well, they seem anxious about something more interesting but by the look on their smudged faces and stained shirts, they've seen a lot and met a lot of other guests on the street.

Dinagsa Festival, similar to Sinulog of Cebu, is Cadiz City's version to celebrate the Baby Jesus as Sr. Santo Niño. Dinagsa, meaning to rush towards something, celebrated every 4th Sunday of January, is an invitation for everyone to come together and celebrate Sr. Santo Niño who provides, protects, and saves His people.

We have events like this in Michigan called “color runs”. Basically the spectators are given colorful powders and toss them at the runners, making a colleague of colors on their skin and clothing.

Most people wear white clothes for the race as to soak up all the colors. Quite fun!

Thanks for sharing.

That is good to know. In this festival, people use water-based paint and smudge each other's faces and shirts. It was a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing your own colorful events and sure want to see some awesome photos, too!
