Dear Diary: What Is The Function Of Your Pet Animals For You?

We always have a dog in our home but not inside because its main function is to guard the house. It is better if the puppy dog for example to grow out from the sight of people and other animals so that when you put them in a place where they can guard and see a potential intruder, they would become fierce and function better as a guard dog.

That is what I had observed with my dogs and they do become an effective house guard if they really won't allow any non-family member to go near our homes and they just bark and bite if possible. My dog even had killed a cat because the cat is attempting to eat it food. Sorry for the cat though but for our youngling they should never be allowed to go near our guard dogs even though they seem to know and recognize them as one of their masters.

My dog is always ensured to be fed well, it has to be in its tiptop shape at all times so that it can function as it should. As a puppy it is dewormed and after that they would be healthy as long as their parasites are controlled if not eliminated completely inside and out their bodies.

When dogs pant t means that they are very hot inside their bodies. It is their way of dispersing heat out from their bodies otherwise they would overheat and die of exhaustion possibly. That is why sometimes we see them digging on the earth and laying their bodies on its cold surface because it cools them. So we must ensure that our dogs in particular gets a cool shade and an ample water source that they can drink to cool down in times of hot days.

An application or dusting of diatomaceous earth on the fur of our dogs can also help rid them of parasites like ticks and fleas. We can also use a food grade diatomaceous earth for their food in measured quantities so that it can help them kill parasites inside their bodies.

Hi Cryptopie, I have two dogs and I learned a couple new things from your post. Here in North America, I think most dogs are indoor pers that are discouraged to bite, making them less of a guard dog.
I didn't know about diatomaceous earth for flees, that is interesting. I makes me wonder if there is any danger if dogs breath it into their lungs.
thanks for the post, I enjoyed reading it.

There are two types od diatomaceous earth @susieisms
One is food grade, the other one is a non-food grade which is used for cleaning.
These are like microscopic shards of glass so I think it is bad the be breathed with.
I also bought half a pound and it is expensive. It happened that I would be taking an important medicine for me so I just postponed its use. It is a food grade and Ihad some ingested already, it is believed to kill microorganisms inside my gut and absorb heavy metals out too.

wow, I had no idea. Thanks, now I know more about d.e.

We have cats inside the house because they are loving companions, bed warmers and they eat literally anything that moves.

We never have any trouble with flies in summer because the cats fight over who gets them. Same with spiders.

I would like to have a dog but the ticks where we live are just way too bad. Many outdoor animals die each year from tick bites. Even with tick repellent they can only take so much before they get too weak.

Our cats are never allowed outside without supervision due to coyotes, fox, wolves, bear and eagles.

We also use diatomaceous earth for fleas and parasites as well as for mites on our chickens.

That's interesting @thediyworld that you never allowed your cats outside because of risk for eagles picking them up as a prey.

Anyway off topic, why are you so heavily trolled in your posts?

Yes we have eagles here. They would eat a cat in a second I have been told.

Long story but I had blocked some trolls on YouTube. But YouTube changed the block function to something like steemit mute so they were able to band up against me.

In time people believed their stories against me and joined them.

That was years ago.

Do NOT engage them. They harass us in the real world too.

@cryptopie The short story is that Troy Reid (thediyworld) runs a youtube channel where he pretends to be a homesteader, claiming he is 95% off grid while not even having a solar power system connected to his dwelling. He has been running a scam for years now, with constant ebegging and low quality videos full of deceptions and misinformation. He bought a mail order bride with donations, along with other blatant misuse of donated goods and money. Apart from lying on a constant basis, he has killed many animals through neglect and poor management. He is also a hoarder of junk. He left tons of rubbish at his previous property earlier this year, for others to clean up. He’s now in the process of turning his second property into another dumpsite. If you are interested to know more about this vile person, have a look here: http://thedoityourselfworld.sucks/forum/index.php#c1

its just a group of troublemakers that likes to stalk and harass people , most were trolls on his youtube channel that he blocked, the 3 main ringleaders are fixedbydoc , timcat100 and a canadian bloke who think they are clever getting others to do their bad work for them

Troy Reid had a beautiful beagle dog called Joy a few years back. He kept her chained up and neglected her. No one knows what eventually happened to that poor dog Joy. Troy Reid is a monster when it comes to taking care of animals.

I do not think your trolling fits here. It is disgusting.

@thediyworld, BUT, your friend doc-hunter is spamming about fixbydoc person that is not even here, or on your DIY channel.
I don't understand this.

Afraid of the boogie man I guess??

I like pets. I have more experience with cats, but wish to have a dog as well in the future once I am settled in one place.

I like cats if they are mousers.

I Love Pet. When I was young I had a pet. I used to always play with him. One day I know someone knocking him with a knife! Despite many efforts, he did not save him You remember this post, I remembuer my pet. I miss him yet. Thanks @cryptopie

I'm so sorry for your pet there.
Why would anyone kill your pet with a knife is a tragedy.

I tried a lot, but I did not know why he was killed 😭😭😭

We do not have any pets but our neighbours have dogs either side so they are our borrowed guard dogs, although they can get a bit tedious when they bark at all hours at nothing in particular! It's a bit odd that I don't have a dog, growing up all my relatives were big dog lovers - my grandparents used to race greyhounds (and won many trophies with them) and my aunt does agility shows and wins awards for those as well as running training classes for dog owners.

That is interesting to know about @c0ff33a
Maybe greyhounds are expensive to maintain because they have to be fit and healthy. Amazing fast-running dogs.

They are, but they were lovely dogs very friendly and amicable. I will try and remember to share a picture of myself when I was young with one.

A different type of post I see in your timeline!! That's great. Everyone needs some changes. By the way, I don't have any dog , just you might want to know :)

Hmmn I have no idea what you are talking about @hafiz34
Anyway of corse having a pet is an option.
Jere in my home it seems that it is not complete without a dog around the house because they alert uss when someone seen around the house.

I have had several dogs and here in the United States, dogs are mostly kept because we enjoy their company and like to play with them. For many people, they become like a member of the family.

Yes I see that @cody.maynard68
You have a different culture there too regarding treating animals.

Beautiful Post well done

looking beautiful and lovely
