To Honor our God, Why is it important?

As Christian, Why is it important to Honor God?

Take time to ask yourself....

Honor:

Originates in our hearts and refers to the value we personally place on something or someone. We honor other people to the degree that we consider their position and contributions significant. We are commanded to honor people because of their position, not their performance. We are commanded to honor our fathers and mothers (Deuteronomy 5:16; Mark 7:10), the elderly (Leviticus 19:32), and those who rule over us (1 Peter 2:17).

When we honor God, we are demonstrating the high regard we have for Him. We are reflecting His glory back as praise and worship.

The Bible shows many ways to honor and glorify God.

• We show Him high regard and reflect His character by being sexually pure (1 Corinthians 6:18–20)
• By living lives devoted to Him (Romans 14:8)
• All people must bow down to the Lord (Revelation 4:10-11)
• Honor God with your time (Psalms 144:4, Isaiah 58:13-14, and Colossians 4:5)
• Honor God with your talents (Matthew 25:14-30)
• Honor God with your temple – This means your body (1 Corinthians 6:18-20)
• Honor God with your treasure – This means your finances. As Jesus said, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21). (Proverbs 3:9 and Malachi 3:10)
• Honor God with your ticker – This means your heart. (Isaiah 29:13, Proverbs 3:5, Proverbs 4:23, Proverbs 23:26, and Psalm 51:10)

This are some of important ways that we should do as Christians to HONOR our LIVING GOD.

God wants to be the sole proprietor of your heart.

Matthew 6:24 makes it clear when it says, “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”

God wants to be the Lord of your life

—not just with your words, but also with your actions. (Matthew 7:21).

As 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 declares,

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”

We belong to the Lord, and may we honor Him 100% with every gift He has given us.

Honoring God shows our love, respect, praise and worship to our God, Father, King and Creator who really loved us more than anyone else.

God Loves you as what the word of God said in John 3:16, Jesus Christ gives His life to you, to me and to all of us to save us from all of our sins. But He wants us to believe in Him and Honor Him.
