A gem with a shimmering iridescence

Like Joshua, you led us with dynamism,
As we crossed rivers of impossibility.

Like David, you led God's nation to greater heights,
Now shining like a gem with a shimmering iridescence.

Like Solomon, you built a temple,
You make it great, for our God is great.

Like Paul, you brought God's message to Rome,
And to the glory that was Greece.
Then trod the ancient streets of Jerusalem,
And brought the Church to it's former home.

Like a seasoned helmsman,
With your indefatigable ferver,
You steered our ship across turbulent open seas
And took it to safe harbors.

Like God's great leaders before you,
You brought people back to God.
The noblest of all tasks!

With all humility, you say,
"It was not I, It was God Who made all these things,"

You keep on reminding us,
That everything that we are,
And everything that we will ever be,
We owe it all to the Almighty.

And so, we look heavenward and pray,
Thank You, Lord.
For he is a great blessings.
