If I say I am not happy to be on this platform, then I am so ungrateful .Today I am 7 months old on steemit. image
My name is Inyang John but my friends calls me Mr itsnobigdeal that's because I take life easy and cool but here on steemit, I am @mritsnobigdeal.

This is my story.
I was born with a silver spoon but I lost the spoon in 1994.my dad was a civil servant but he was owed for many years. My mum was just a secondary school teacher then and the pay was not enough to take care of the family. My dad at some point subjected himself to Farming because that was the only way to survive.
image
He will get a huge plot of land and everyone was into planting and weeding. At this point, we were 4boys and I don't have a sister so my brothers and myself participated fully in the farming activities. It was that period that I learnt how to grow cassava, maize, vegetables, yam etc. This crops was grown mainly to sale and to consume some but it was mostly for sale.
image
I was just a little kid but I learnt how to fetch firewood, carry it home, as heavy as it was but I did it with joy that someday everything will be fine. Most of the times, morning food was very far from us so it became a normal thing for us to stay with out food.
During that period, I stayed most of my life, I didn't know what meat was, I didn't taste fish. The only thing that you will see in our soup was just vegetable and cray fish. Life was very tough. Sometimes my dad felt like committing suicide because it was too much on him but I am glad he didn't do that.

image
Weekends, my brother and myself will go to the market to hawk garri, sale cassava tubers and yam tubers too. It was a normal way of life for us so we got use to it.
I stayed most of my primary school days without a uniform, most kids mocked and laughed at us. They knew us like those kids without uniform. Paying of school fees was a big problem. Most times we will have to work hard in the farm to make enough money for fees before examination and sometimes we couldn't meet up.
image
One thing that kept us going Was the fact that we were intelligent and we top our classes .our results gave my parents a source of strength and a future that will someday get better.

I can vividly remember one of the days in school when a lady whom I had a little argument with telling me that I was a nobody and That I will forever remain a poor person all my life. that particular day was my worst day in school. I was just in primary 3, I cried and went home.
image
I hated myself and I cursed poverty from that moment. I was very close to my mum so she understood my mood and she knew something was bothering me. I told her what happened in school earlier, she cried and wept. One thing about me is that, I hate to see my mum cry. I consoled her and I made a promise to her that I was going to work hard, I will be rich someday and I will take good care of her.

We struggled to be through with school. Going to higher secondary was never the plan. There was this big examination in my school that only the rich could afford it and could send their wards to the school. During that period, a lot of kids was talking about the exam but I couldn't talk about it because there was no money to get the entrance form so I didn't bother telling my parents about it.

One faithful day, my class teacher who knew I was intelligent talked to me about the exam and I told him how hard it was, I told him I would have loved to try that exam but there was no money to get the form. He told me he will be coming home to talk to my parents and how important he needed me to participate in the exam. According to him, he said he believes so much in me and he has this strong conviction that I can make it. I was motivated

image
The next day, he came to see my parents and he told them how good I was and how he will want me to go for the exam, my parents had to make us work more hard in the farm and we were able to raise money for the exam. To be sincere to you, I was the last person that registered for the exam. At that point, i knew I had a lot of responsibility to take care of. I knew how much importance that exam was for me. I knew how many people that will be looking up to me. So I did my best. That period of exam, my dad stopped me from coming to the farm so I can concentrate with my exam and come out successful.
image

The day of the exam came and I was nervous, truth is, I have never written such an examination before in my life so it was normal to be scared,my dad encouraged me and motivated me to go and make a difference.
The examination indeed was a tough one but I did my best and came back home. My dad was asking if I was sure of passing but I told him I have done my best so let's wait for the result.

Weeks past and the result didn't come out but one faithful Friday, the head master came to announce that the result was ready and that so many people failed. At that point, I became very scared. What will I tell my parents? Oh! They will be so disappointed in me ,this is what I thought. The next minute the head master said, out of 100 candidates, only 20 passed ,it was at this point that I almost fainted.
image
He immediately read out the names of the pupils that passed and I was among them. Only God knows how happy I was that day, I couldn't wait to get back home so I can break the news to them. On getting home, I was walking like a small god, do you know me? Do you know I have passed my exam. My dad was not at home, he has gone to the farm and my mum went to the market, it was only my neighbors I saw around so I kept cool and waited for them to come back home.

My mum came back first and I couldn't wait for her to get inside, I broke the news to her, she was very happy and pleased, she hugged me and prayed for me. For a very long time I have never seen my mum that happy not until that day.

Hours later, my dad came back and my mum told him everything. Everyone was pleased with me. My journey to greatness started immediately.
I wanted to change my family, I wanted to stop them from doing the every time farming. I wanted to make sure my parents where happy.

My story is a long one but I just need to stop here maybe someday I will complete the rest. Let me quickly go straight to my 7 months on Steemit.

MY 7 MONTHS ON STEEMIT.

I met @samstickkz in 2012 when we had admission to study in our different field. He was in the same faculty with me but we never really had that closeness. It was just the normal hello and HI thing.
Last year around March, I started seeing updates from him on facebook about Steemit, I was not attracted at all. At some point I had to ask someone else about it and I said Sam is always talking about steemit, the guy said, forget about Sam, whatever he is doing, might not be genuine. So from there, I backed off from steemit. Sam continued preaching about steemit, at some point, my conscience was telling me that if there was nothing in this steemit, I don't think Sam will be wasting his time talking about it. So I had to inbox him, I told him I am interested and I will love to join, he gave me the link to register and also added me to a community he belongs. This happened around October but to be sincere to you all, I didn't understand how it worked so I ran away from it.

I left the community. Before this time, I was too broke, I was a nobody, I was a true definition of broke ass niggar,i had nothing to show for being me. I hated myself and most times I stayed indoor doing nothing.
Most of the places I applied to work, I was turned down and at some point I gave up. @samstickkz continued preaching about steemit and I ran back to him to add me back to the community that I am ready to work with him. I told him to take me like his own blood, he took me like his blood and taught me a lot more. The first thing he said to me was, go and socialize in the community, during that period, I met a lot of people. The first person I met was @prechi, daddy prechi God is going to bless you, you took me like a brother, you should me a lot and you helped me understand who I was, whenever I am writing about my journey on steemit, I can never fail to call your name, you are a good man and you are still a good man, posterity will be kind to you. Thank you so much for everything.

In t. at same quest to make more friends, I met a kind man, I met a friend who became my best man, I met sir @amec. Sir @amec is a great man, he charged me to greatness and he helped me discover how powerful I was. Brother you are a huge inspiration to me and to many, thanks so much for everything you did for me. I am grateful.
Still on the lane to socialize, I met @ewuoso, sir ewuoso is an inspiration and a die hard motivator. He is a great farmer and I enjoyed the way he cares for his animals. He showed me so much love, he taught me a whole lot on steemit. Brother truth be told, you are part of my story here and I just want to tell you this that posterity will definitely be kind to you. Thanks so much for everything.

The next person I met was @ejemai of @stach. This young man taught me how to love, he has a large heart and he has the interest of Nigerians at heart. He gave us at steemit uyo a hub where every great steemian can come around to use the free Wi-Fi.He is also the brain behind #project20millionnija tag and I am a huge fan of that project . Sir @ejemai I want to tell you that I enjoy what you are doing, every kind deed, there is a price, you with reap bountiful I assure you. Continue to motivate us, we look up to you all the time and we draw our strenght from you. God bless you immediately.

I also met @onos, it was tough to really understand this great man, most of the times I misunderstood him and we quarrelled but truth is, he is an amazing personality and I respect his ways of doing things. He is a sincere person and I want to say thank you for everything you taught me back then, I really do appreciate, I am grateful.

@surpassinggoogle became a good man and a wonderful motivation to me, he also became a role model to me and to many great steemians. He is a kind man, I pray God continue to bless him and keep him for us.

All thanks goes to @futurethinker who motivated me and pushed me to become a better writer, I am grateful boss. Thanks so much for everything.

I will not fail to acknowledge @infovore for the love shown, massive love, God bless you and keep you.

Ever since I was born, my mum has never celebrated her birthday before and I promised her that someday, I will personally foot the bills for her birthday.

Ever since I found steemit, I was able to get her a cake and I was able to take good care of her day.
Steemit became my life. Steemit has helped me reach most of my dreams.

Because of steemit, I was able to graduate From the University and I was able to take good care of myself and my family. At some point, I introduced steemit to my family and to my cousins, I can proudly say at this point that steemit is a family thing now. Everyone here talks about it and they are very happy.

Because of steemit, I can now comfortably eat meat, I know how hard it was for me when I was growing up to eat meat but now, chicken and turkey is my favorite now.

Steemit became the best job for me, steemit changed my life. Steemit helped me take good care of my bills.
When I joined steemit, I was not really making the money, I was frustrated but I kept on working on myself. Most of my payouts use to be 0.00 after each 7days, the first time I made 1$, it was as if I have arrived, the joy was massive and it gave me hope for better days to come.

I want to specially thank my twin @classic717 and my elder brother @andy212 , they motivated me and they helped me become a better person. I love you guys so very much and I am glad to be associated with you guys.

I have an advice for the newbies, when you join steemit, Just socialize, work hard and never give up, someday, it will surely pay off, if it did pay off for me, believe me it will pay off for you too.

About #project20millionnija#, I became a pastor, I have preached the sermon to as many as I can and I have not stopped preaching the gospel.

One thing about steemit is that, if you work hard, you will reap, if you take steemit serious, steemit will take you seriously serious. It is what you give that you will take.
I want to specially motivate you that no condition in life is permanent, your story might be very bad from mine but the good thing is that you didn't give up and I didn't give up too.
Whatever be the situation, it is just for a temporary time, someday everything will be fine.
