Project Name: “Accompanying poor children to school”

Organizational units: Green Peace Club Thai Nguyen Volunteers.

Object support: support and advocacy the children in a complicated situation to go to school.

Project implementation time: 5/31/2018 to 6/6/2018

Purpose: The project " Companion and poor children to school " from the volunteers at Green Peace Club Thai Nguyen , will help 48 poor children who are in a difficult family situations in Cao Bien hamlet, Vo Nhai district, Thai Nguyen province. All these children families live in areas surrounded by poor infrastructure and mountainous roads. From their living areas to the school, the children have to walk 3km of mountain roads, which make the journey quite a long one but also a dangerous and tiring one.

Moreover, once they reach the school, they meet another hardship which is the poor facilities that are provided by the school, classrooms are made of lime and soil, and the roof is made of leaves.

This project will help to improve the studying environment of the children but also the family’s precarious situation.

Some of the main activities of the project:

-         Rebuild the classroom for the children, making the infrastructure more advanced

-        -  Give presents and encourage children to go to school

-        - Help the children with books and academic contents

-        - Financial help for children with extremely difficult family circumstances so they continue to go to school

-       - Plan entertainment days for the children with games and other activities.

Project Implementers:

Including 30 volunteers (mostly students of universities in Thai Nguyen) who have dedication mindset to the community; and who were trained through some courses to get the necessary skills and other training programs to support and understand what’s need to be done in the different stages of this project.

Expected results of the project:

This project aims to:

•   help children in difficult situations to go to school and study,

•   help children with basic knowledge and living skills to give them direction for the future,

•   help children to have the attitude, actions, and behavior that will follow the Ethical standards

•   raise awareness about the different aspects of life, to incentivize participation within the community and the government

•   overall to guide the children to have a brighter future.
