When FC Porto were on away from home against Guimaraes on Sunday night, their striker Moussa Marega was subjected to racist outcry by the away fans 10 minutes after his scored to make it 2-1, he heard the shouting of the opponents fans and he chose to leave the field in protest.
Both teammates and opponents tried to make him stay on the field, but Marega was determined not to continue playing. After a long interruption of the game, he was allowed to leave the field and the game could continue.
Subsequently, huge backing has come to Marega, to counter racism. Portuguese media A Bola, among other medias, gave the Porto player a 10/10 rating for his match efforts.
