Steemit is a challenge and facebook is for family. Steeming since August

in uphill-climb •  8 years ago  (edited)

Been on steemit since early August and I remember 2 months of zero or no payout. @blocktrades upvoted my #introduceyourself in the beginning, but it was rare to get a whale upvote back then.

I started steemit because I had just watched a recent @dollarvigilante video on youtube, where he interviewed @ned and @dan about @steemit.

What an amazing and crazy ride Steemit has been. I have two growing boys, so my time is more limited, but I'll still upvote the shit out of #minnow posts, because I remember the uphill climb.

I'm @runridefly, and I think facebook is for hometown friends and family, and #steemit is for any man, woman or child who loves a challenge, and wants to be a world traveler.

Keep rockin' and cheers!

facebook is like school reunion krud. Half the people from my school days are on my bucket list to avoid for eternity :) . . .
But I do have friends from school, I love the open nature of Steemit and am so busy now flipping alt coins I rarely get herein enough.
But the beauty of Steemit is that its not really open to censorship that much. Sure Whales have huge impacts ( just like the rich 1% in society ) but at least Steemit is trying to change the way things are done.
We gotta work together and a huge part of that is counteracting the propaganda and marketing of the mainstream world. Every newly exposed mind we open means the status quo loses just a little more of their monopolies and central control.
I get annoyed at all the "groups" on facebook when I think those groups would have a "better" 'experience on Steemit without all the extra clutter.
Sure Steemit has issues and challenges, just like FaceBook had when it WAS ONE YEAR OLD. FaceBook has had over a decade to "clean up its act" but while it has refined its user experience, FaceBook is NOT a platform for open mindedness FREE speech.
FaceBook has stakeholders and advertisers and other special interest groups to cater to. Steemit has STEEMIANS, we are the shareholders. We can post on Steemit and people can choose to pay us or not without costs themselves one cent.
Go check out the conspiracy theorists and anarchists herein on Steemit and ask yourself how long their voices would exist on Reddit or Twitter or other "owned" websites.
HEREIN at STEEMIT; you and I 'own' this platform and I recall the wonderful feeling of blocktrades being nice to me months ago. Whales exist in every field of endeavor, Babe Ruth was a WHALE in BaseBall, Tiger Woods was a WHALE in Gold. Arnie was a Bodybuilder WHALE and Lance Armstrong was a WHALE at cycling.
We are in Steemit together and we NEED Steemit to be stronger, I am extremely busy in real life, but when I do "steal" some 'free time' I choose to visit Steemit and NOT my level 102 Hunter in World Of Warcraft.
So people please do yourself a favour and society a favor and pull together to make Steemit grow so Steemit can "save" more 'sheep' from the mindless propaganda rhetoric that the owners of mass media broadcast 25/8 endlessly.
Steemit needs to put aside its silly petty squabbles and remain strong so we can ring more of society toward free thinking instead of just blindly following the masses in blissful ignorance...
Not sure if there is a word quota, but did I meet or exceed my allowed post limit ? Oh yeah; sorry that is Tweets for Twits that has a 144 character limit...
Love you all :)

Entertaining and wise, nice. Facebook is pop culture and fails to hold a candle to the high culture probability and achievability of Steemit. Working and interacting together with intent makes us greater than the sum of our members. Likened to musicians in a tight well seasoned group, amazing flow happens.

Thank you, with the fragmentation of society and loss of social values people of good conscious need to pull together and try and steem the bleeding of this cultural collapse. If we do not try then things are going to go from bad to worse. Steemit helps opens sheeps minds to the reality that the powerful and influential stakeholder groups are a cancer killing humanity.
We have to work together and one way to do that is by having people earn their economic financial freedom and independence with bitcoin.
The great thing about offering bitcoin through steemit is that you already have a group of open minded creative humans who are serious about wanting to make a change both in the world and in their own financial future :)
Imagine a system where people can create their own separate independent income source in their own home anonymously, all with a free system that has a proven track success record of above 95 percent.
Personally I LIKE having a hobby where I make my own cash; with a " no money down " system that allows a person to secretly create legal money themselves from home in under 59 minutes per day...

What can one say; how does ' golden ' sound :)

I agree people of good conscience need pull together with intent towards improving culture. From my perspective,paraphrasing Buckminster Fuller;
stop trying to fix a broken system and create a better one, and so Steemit appears, plus having way more advantages and possibilities to make it happen.
Intuition and rewarding valued content lead me to Steemit in order to help build a better culture, a high culture vs a pop culture.
Together let us weave the fabric of our culture into a new mantle.
Earning economic financial freedom and independence with bitcoin is an awesome concept, I'm new here and know little about crypto-currencies, learning more and more every day. At this point Steem is an added bonus and as I learn, go for bitcoins

What people are to blind to think about is there was nothing like Steemit before so Steemit had to start from scratch. FaceBook had Myspace etc. But people expect perfection in a brand new baby barely a year old.
At one year old a human can barely walk but the fools herein choose to complain that Steemit cannot qualify to run in marathons and is not ready for sprinting yet.
They say the scientists are under a year away from brain transplants, I could recommend a lot of candidates for the procedure the only problem???
Where do we get the brains from, maybe lab-rats :)

hugz ;)

love you

I'm well aware there is nothing like Steemit, as this is my first true foray into the social media scene. Like you mentioned high school reunion crud, my take on facebook...high school cliques .lol Steemit is new and will take some time to settle into a steady growth flow, tried and sustainable. I'm in for the long haul.
Intuititavely, I am attracted to Steemit due to it's valuing creative content. And being on the blockchain inspires me as a music composer/musician and creative artistic venturer because my content will forever remain on the blockchain long after I am gone. How's that for patience?
This may be a kind of pseudo copyright in that it proves the date of the idea's existence. As for the pop culture being blind to the true value of Steemit and their impatience, perhaps it's not for everyone. Not to worry, like water, Steemit will seek it's own level. Hugs and love back to you as well.

Dude, that's a good post! @crok, think I bought the cape at Walmart. Steem On Dude!

lol , do you do email ???

For me, the beauty of Steemit is that there's a real sense of connection between people from all over the place... Facebook is more about keeping in touch with a bunch of family and friends you already know from somewhere... and who might give a futz about what you ate for dinner last night. It gets a little thin for me, most of the time.

I like things HERE because I miss the old days of "social blogging" and that seems to be enjoying a bit of a renaissance here. I won't deny the rewards are nice, but I'm actually more stoked about being a bit of a stakeholder in this project than earning cash...

Told you that you would survive...lol...beautiful children!

I'm sick still, but I hope to live another day. Thank you for sweet comment about by hogs.

good job.
@runridefly

life is a journey of love , care , sharing , struggle and success... steemit is on such journey... gud luck

I remember those early days with few cents rewards. Now we can give few cents to other people, that'sso cool. We stayed during highs and lows, we are the real steemians. Steem on dude!

Amazing post friend.

We joined the same week pretty much and we are
