Ohio State suffered from one of the biggest upsets this season so far in West Lafayette, Indiana. The Boilermakers were lights out from the start, holding the Buckeyes to just one field goal in the first half. Purdue's explosive offense were able to put up points in each quarter while shutting out the Buckeyes up until the fourth quarter. As they picked up the tempo in the final quarter, the Boilermakers responded to every scoring they gave up with another touchdown. Leading tackler Markus Bailey put this game away in the final quarter with a pick six for a touchdown.
OSU Quarterback Dwayne Haskins went 49/73, threw for 470 yards with two touchdowns and one interception and on the other end, David Blough went 25/43, 378 yards and three touchdowns. Purdue Running Back DJ Knox Jr. was responsible for three touchdowns with 16 carries for 128 yards, averaging 8.8 yards per attempt with a long of 42 yards. True Freshman Rondale Moore had 12 catches for 170 yards, averaging 14.2 yards per catch with two touchdowns, and a long of 43 yards.
