Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos insists that the whole team should be responsible for their elimination in the Copa del Rey after losing to Leganes.
Shown at home, Santiago Bernabeu, on Thursday (25/1) early this morning, Real Madrid have capital advantage one goal thanks to a 1-0 win in the first leg quarter-final. But what happened was shocking.
Instead of winning or at least playing a draw, Zinedine Zidane's team was actually defeated by a score of 1-2. Two goals from Javier Eraso and Gabriel can only be scored one goal from Karim Benzema.
These results do make aggregate meeting both teams is 2-2. But Leganes is entitled to advance to the next round because of the superior away goals rule.
"After experiencing all the wonderful trips with all of our trophies, when such a result happens, it's much harder to get in. We're all responsible, not just coaches," he said.
"We have to learn from this difficult period to try and reverse the situation around as soon as possible," he added.
"We all have to accept that responsibility and we understand that fans are frustrated at times like this: Soccer is all about morals and we know how they feel," he said.
