The world's population is growing and Urbanisation is happening faster now than at any time in human history.

In 1950 New York and Tokyo were the only so called megacities .

Cities with more than 10m inhabitants

By 1980 these were joined by Mexico City , Sao paulo and Osaka .

In 2010 there were over 20 megacities spanning almost every continent .

To day there are 32 megacities .

Urbanisation is happening faster than at any time in human history .

Asia accounts for over half of toda'ys megacities .

By 2030 nearly 9 % of the world's population will live in 41 megacities .

But it's in Africa where some of the most rapid urbanisation will take  place in the future .

There are a many challenges we will be faced with growing the megacities.

Crime , pollution ,cost of living, etc ...

We look to Tokyo ,world's biggest megacity at the moment 38 million citizens .

That's almost 7 times more that the entire population of Norway .

How will we cope !?

Whether megacities can develop sustainably depends to a large extent on how they

obtain, share, and manage their energy and material resources and energy resources

as well as disrtribution , will be hugely important as we go towards 2030 ...

The world is getting bigger by population and energy needs , we are heading

the tip of  " iceberg " almost literally in terms of climate change and global warming ...

Our recourses as we see them are not ever lasting ; unless we do something drastic  to improve our dear mother nature .
