The progress of urbanism

The expression of change in all aspects of life can be seen in the rise of urbanism. The creation of the city is one of the pivots that could be used as a separation between primitive and modern humanity. It is curious to examine the phenomenon now, when what was born seven or eight thousand ago chokes us and announces its crisis in a short time. Perhaps ten thousand years would suffice to cover the growth, rise and decline of cities.
Today we begin to know the first human rooms; places protected by rough stone walls in the caves already occupied in the Upper and Middle Paleolithic, groups of huts in the steppe, in what were the first camps, from Magdalenian times, found from France to Russia. In all this we see a beginning of protourbanism, adapted to the life of the hunters and their seasonal migrations.
