As bad as the US gets, I'm still not moving to Canada - Here's why.

The USA has her problems. Just about everybody has seen people during every presidential election saying "If x wins, I'm moving to Canada."

I'm never moving to Canada and I'll tell you why.

-Yes, I'm issuing a trigger warning, which goes against my principles; but, this is gonna get pretty gross-

Canada is a country that will throw you in jail for using the wrong pronouns.

"Stop!" you say, "It's just a fine."

Okay, what if I won't pay the fine? What if I don't think that I have done anything wrong by not referring to Demi Lovato as "they?" What if I don't think there's anything wrong with failing to refer to Layshia Clarendon by "he/him," "she/her," or "they/them" when Clarendon happened to identify as one of those? Well, I don't pay the fine, I go to jail.

Namely, I get fined if I don't lie. I go to jail if I don't admit to failing to lie.

But, that's small beans.

Jessica Yaniv (who I will misgender because I'm in the USA and he can't legally touch me) has proven how insane Canada has become.

It's actually occurred to me that it's almost a sick joke that I just typed that Yaniv "...legally can't touch me." He's proven that it's illegal in Canada for women to not touch his penis so long as he says he's a woman. He's proven that Canada is more worried about Jordan Peterson using the wrong pronouns than she is in preventing women from being forced to handle male genitals against their will.

Yaniv was an organizer of a topless pool party for young children with parents discouraged from attending. No, that apparently isn't illegal in Canada. Thank God nothing came of it. Apparently some Canadian parents have more sense than the government.

Yaniv has not only walked into women's bathrooms presenting entirely as a man; but, has taken photos of young girls in the bathroom without their consent. Canadian law - totally cool. "You go girl!"

Yaniv has video chatted with young girls on Instagram pleasuring himself. No problem.

Yaniv has DMed young girls on social media asking them about menstrual cycles (which he doesn't have) and about the etiquette of providing tampons to young girls and whether or not to take them into the bathroom stall and show them how to use it. Still, no problems there.

After all of this, Yaniv finally faced legal punishment for the one thing that he shouldn't have been punished for - showing that he had a taser.

Of all the insane, predatory behaviour that Yaniv engaged in, of all the times in court in which Yaniv was claiming to be the victim and running women out of business and ruining their source of income because they wouldn't touch him down there, of all of the evidence of sexual conduct (at least online) with children, Canada finally put him in court for illegal possession of a taser that everybody should have a right to have.

The USA has a ton of problems. That's not lost on me. But, holy fuck, this is at least a country that is more likely to throw you in jail for pleasuring yourself in front of a child than it is likely to throw you in jail for carrying a taser.

If you want a reason to stand up and hold your hand over your heart to celebrate the USA, that should be it.
