All it took was Elon Musk defending a single immigration pathway for the progressives to go all Know Nothing nativist again, and I can't tell you how depressing and infuriating that is.
Immigrants do not steal jobs from Americans. Even immigrants who work for people you hate are not doing something wrong by coming here. We should be expanding visa pathways, not shrinking them. People should have agency over their own life decisions, and "people" includes everyone, not just Americans.
This is why you cannot convince me that we will ever get to a better place on this issue until Democrats start facing some actual accountability for being so shitty about it.
We simply cannot rely on their personal morals here because Bernie Sanders is only ever one bad mood away from being Bill the Butcher.
