Americans are obsessed with the hero complex

Do you live outside USA? Did you know you’re part of a drama?

A complex is a pattern of emotions, behavior, perceptions, and wishes following a common theme. The hero complex  is described by FitzRoy Somerset, Joseph Campbell, Carl Jung, and  others, but they could never imagine what a devastating example USA would become.

There are many good qualities with America. Things I love. They have  given us a lot of important and positive things, e g their constitution and sense of freedom which has been a role model for the rest of the  world – to be honest they are not completely alone in that discovery,  even though they think they are.

Butand here’s the big problem…Americans are totally obsessed with the hero figure, and that has not been so good for humanity and planet Earth.

All fictional stories of men and women with superpowers comes from the US. Movies with hero themes are mass produced. They praise their military like no other country and love stories of heroic military actions. The infantry always comes to the rescue and are always portrayed as the good guys. To name a few examples.

Another trait is their winning mentality. This can be used for both positive and negative outcomes. Wanting to always win sometimes puts moral aside.

I’m sure the gigantic surveillance system they've built, to monitor the rest of the world including themselves, are also used to steal good ideas and the dollar system has been a way to keep other countries in place and exploit to their advantage. They must win at all costs.

Yet another trait is that they are a very emotional people. Plenty of videos on YouTube with home coming soldiers and similar situations surprising loved ones making everyone cry.

Combine all this with the hero complex and the might of a big country like USA and you get a world in turmoil as, seen from a deeper spiritual level, the world is a playground for their hero complex. The rest of the world, to which I belong, are extras in their play whether we want it or not.

The paradox is that they themselves play both parts, the bad and good guys. Ever since the end of World War II we have been dealing with this in an endless series of wars, economic and democratic turbulence, and other dramatic scenes.

It’s about to come to an end. It has to. We love the good side of USA but will not survive the negative one much longer. And hopefully the good guys will win.

I wonder what part Trump is playing in all of this? He’s done a few good things in the right direction but the situation in Syria and the threats against Russia are worrying. At least I know Hillary Clinton was on the bad team. Will she make a last dramatic entrance?

I can fully agree with this. America is like the Romans. We're the good news, the hero. Everything we is justified.

As an american citizen, I myself cannot say how much of my behavior is due to conditioning and how much is due to true love... of my fellow brothers and sisters, the only ones I have ever known... So my question: what steps can be taken by someone such as I, who is aware of my mistakes and working diligently to rectify them, but ultimately powerless to change the overall opinion and direction of the masses, whom I know continues to behave in an irresponsible manner? Or moreso, how can awakened beings continue to survive, seeking growth and enlightenment, bettering themselves, without participating in the things they know make them sick? Is there some haven anywhere to do this, to better prepare ourselves and then go back to our loved ones, all of whom deserve to live?

...because all life deserves to Live...

Anyways, just a thought, love your post...
