The new requirements for cryptocurrency contracts have been published by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). Investors are required to contribute 50% of the contract sum out of their own funds. Initially, the limit of leverage level was fixed at a rate of 5:1 which allowed investors to start a deal with 20% of the contract for difference. Now, at the project opening, investors should have enough funds to cover at least half of the contract value. Trading platforms should be regulated and verified in accordance with the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR).
