#Center #Consortium, the organization behind the USD Coin ( #USDC) stablecoin co-founded by #Coinbase and Circle, blacklisted seven seemingly inactive Ethereum addresses on Wednesday, according to data from Dune Analytics.
🔥Why Was It Blacklisted?
This development seems to have blacklisted addresses with USDC for the first time since the Center blacklisted addresses containing more than 100,000 USDC in July 2020. At that time, the Center blacklisted an address in response to a request from law enforcement agencies. While we cannot comment on the details of law enforcement requests, the Center complies with binding court orders with appropriate jurisdiction over the organization, ”he explained.
The addresses are listed below. Cryptocoin recorded its recent transactions using data from blockchain explorer Etherscan.

According to #Circle, the USDC smart contract maintains a #global #blacklist to help comply with anti-financial crime regulation, and USDCs of blacklisted addresses may be permanently inaccessible.
Data compiled by The #Block #Research show that USDC's aggregate supply has accelerated since the beginning of 2020
