Wikileaks is asserting that the U.S. Government directly advocating undermining the democratic elections in Syria in 2011.
According to documentation written by the U.S. Marine Corp Intelligence Department, the U.S. favored radical Sunnis as a way to undermine the Syrian government.
This was a way to oppose Iran over this region.
