The last couple of weeks in the Analysis category have been very quiet, with only 3 contributions to report in the last 14 days. With the influx of new open source projects over the past couple of months, this is somewhat surprising but it assumed that holidays and the relatively low price of STEEM have been a factor.
Week 11 saw a staff pick given to the contribution provided by 'blockchainstudio', which I believe to be their most in-depth contribution to date. Collating and processing witness and witness proxy data is a time-consuming and detailed task. It is also difficult to present and explain in a straight-forward manner. The analysis covers multiple angles with regards to Witness rankings and who's voting for each witness, using various criteria, and presents these findings superbly.
The chart presenting the 'turn out' of each class of account was particularly interesting:

Small fish < 500 SP is still small unfortunately even if they vote :( However, the voting power of the users < 5K who do not vote is actually greater than freedom.
The reviewer commented:
A key conclusion and one which should spark hope that 'my vote doesn't matter' is not true! There are possibilities that some of these accounts, and the 5-50k ones are steemit inc staff, or alt. accounts of users who do not want to give any clues as to who they are connected with. However, I still think there are enough of these accounts to make waves if they were active in witness voting.
The second contribution in week 11 was my own. Whilst discovering some points of interest with regards to the activity of Claimed Accounts, and in particular the use of accounts claimed by the 'fundition' account, the work did not reach the standard I had hoped.
The reviewer noted:
... I'm surprised by the comment rate of fundition-created accounts. Do you have any idea on the reasons there?
The short answer being 'no', and there is scope for more work in this area.
The single contribution in week 12 by 'dalz' focused on the activities of 'eSteem', and covered a variety of metrics spanning the last year or so. The analyst noted a recent upswing in activities, and detailing this with additional charts 'zoomed in' to these changed could have provided further insight to the rate of change.
The reviewer stated:
The presentations are a good guide to activity, but are quite high level, and perhaps a more focused/detailed look at recent months could have highlighted the beginning of a new trend a little better.
Overall, the category continues to provide solid work, but is currently lacking in numbers.
Analysis and visual reporting
The aim of this section is to represent the current weeks activity along with a recent set of data. The current data span covers the previous 26 weeks.
Weekly Average Score and number of Contributions

An average score of 86.5 in week 11 is well over the 26 week average of 72.9, but the single contribution in week 12 fell a little short of the average. Both week 11 and 12 fell short of the weekly contribution average of 3.2.
Contributor Totals and Average Score

Hi abh,
Thank you for providing the Analysis category weekly report. The category is calm, but the quality of the contributions received are cool. I agree with the maxim. ‘’Quality, not quantity’’ However, I would love to see a similar quality in high quantity. :)
'blockchainstudio' contribution is outstanding. The analysis post is highly detailed and extensive. He did a pretty good job. Kudos to him!
As always, the report is clear and highly informative. The visuals are bright and accurate.
Again, thank you for providing the category overview, have a good week!

Hi @tykee
Thank you for the review. Yes I would also love to see an increase in contributions, the review team have not had much work over the last couple of week, or for a while in comparison to other categories.
I keep saying it, but hopefully better times are still to come!
Have a nice weekend
Asher
