Hey guys!!,
This is a suggestion for the current Utopian_io platform which has proved to be the place for the coders to earn more revenue than posting any programming-related blogs directly on Steemit.
Suggestions:
- Files upload - Currently, we are uploading images while we are writing blogs. And this is absolutely fine. But it could have been more user-friendly, if there was a place for putting these images separately just like Github.
In some cases, currently we as a programmer even need to reference a document or a file. In this case, either we upload a doc, pdf, on centralised cloud and then give the link or directly the link (directing to the pdf).
Unlike Github, there is no file storage system currently existing on the Utopian_io platform itself.
- Code repository - Now, it is high time that we elevate our dependency on Github. Because, some day it might go offline.
Then what shall we do?
Have we all thought of this?
So, instead of referencing the github directory all the contributors would reference the utopian repository link.
And this can be done in this manner:
Coders would fork from the existing repository and reference the new repository on Utopian link into the old repository. So, the new viewers could move from the old one to new one. And thereafter, all the issues, pull requests, wiki, uploading files - pdfs, images, docs, codes shall be modified in this new link.
Main page of the project would look corresponding to the Github's one -
Like Github, Issues page for Utopian's code repository -
Like Github, Pull-requests page for Utopian's code repository -
Like Github, Project page for Utopian's code repository - Organizing the project and manage alerts for any issues, pull-requests.
Like Github, Wiki page for Utopian's code repository - One can write about the project in detail.
Conclusion
These are the 2 main suggestions which I think should be implemented if we really want to take this Utopian into mainstream for programmers, developers.
There are many developers who doesn't even know how to monetize their codes. And with Utopian taking the role of uploading, modifying the codes and getting paid. This would truly revolutionize the platform at a large scale.
That's all for now.
