So, okay. What is it exactly that I wanted to suggest here?
First thing I did when my account was activated, I visited people's account who got me on Steemit. Let me use @hiroyamagishi's account as an example (and I really did search his name first on Steemit). I searched his name on the search bar.
When I hit Enter, I read his display name and a nutshell about him.
That was impressive! Alright, let me look at his blogs, I wanted to know more about him and learn more from him. This is what I saw.
Hey, wait a sec...this is just too much information and confusing for a newbie like me. Literally, I had to scroll down and load the page until I reached his oldest post. I thought it'd took me forever to have found his first post ever! ๐
His #introduceyourself post was not even his first post. The whole page was a mix of his own posts and resteems for different authors (which @dreamiely's suggestion will absolutely help tidy up your Steemit page.)
Angelica, get to the point!!!
Okay, chill. How about we can pin a specific post that we want our followers and first time Steemians/visitors can look and read at? It is something that you want your followers to know; first thing that they'll see in your Steemit page. It could be an #introduceyourself post, your #untalented or #steemgigs entry, your newest entry in a photo or poetry contest, your #openmic entry, or anything that you wanted to highlight, so people can interact easily with you and your content.
The profile on top is great, but that's just a nutshell. Let's say, the account created was a community, a support group, or bots. If the Steemit website has the option to pin a post, then I can easily determine what this community page is for, how I can join, if there's an event happening, and whatnot.
Now, I'm gonna use my page as an example this time. ๐
If you are going to look at my page, this is how it will look like.
The top three posts were not mine, but I resteemed those because, 1) I wanted to promote my friend's post because it's great, 2) I wanted to share the insight of the author about an interesting topic, and 3) resteeming the post is part of the game. So to top it all of, it was not primarily a promotion of my steemit page and my niche. That's why, I'm suggesting it here. ๐ Most of us here are joined in a server in Discord, and every time we visit a specific channel, you will see a pinned message. In different social media platforms, they also have it, even in your YouTube channel. So why not have it in the awesomest social network in the universe, too?
If pinning your post will be implemented (or will be applied? haha, not sure for the exact term to use), this is what it would look like. (Of course, I'm going to post my beautiful face. Hahahaha!)
This is just an example, but you can PIN whatever post you want as long as you are happy with it, no one's stopping you from doing so. It's just a matter of promoting your post a little louder, so your audience is up to date and well-informed about you, and your content. ๐
In life, we pin something at the top that we find most valuable of: life verse, contact numbers, to-do list, bills to pay, etc. Let's do some pinning here, too! ๐
PS.
Is the pin logo cool? Haha! Comment down below and let us know your thoughts in this suggestion! ๐

I love this idea! I could use this for my account. I used to do a lot of resteeming and have buried some of my favourite posts. This feature would be amazing to have.

Great Idea, Angie. I had the same thoughts, I even proposed something similar to the Steemit team: They are consulting right now the community for the platform's development Roadmap 2018. You should also bring your contribution!
