Hello everyone Anidel here for another simple and easy to follow tutorial. I will show you in this tutorial how to install , create and set up for NEM nanowallet harvesting. I will try to make the tutorial as detailed and as simple as possible so that newbies could also easily follow it.

Introduction

The New Econonomy Money or NEM is both a digital cryptocurrency and Blockchain platform. It is written and Java with C++ adaptation in the works for better performance. NEM is both Open-source and Closed-source. NEM client side are all open-source which includes the NEM Community client and Nanowallet while the Server side is closed sourced.

NEM nanowallet is an open source cryptocurrency wallet of NEM. It is a light client that lets you interact with the NEM blockchain without having to download the whole transaction records of NEM. Developers can contribute and review its code at https://github.com/NemProject/NanoWallet

Requirement

  1. Nanowallet client
  2. Internet Browser with internet connection
  3. Windows Operating System 64-Bit version
  4. Computer with a Dual-Core class x64 microprocessor with 4 GB of RAM and at least 80 GB Hard disk space.

Procedure

The NEM nanowallet is a portable application that does not really need any installation to have it running in our computer system we just download the the file in the website and extract the compressed files in an accessible directory. Like most of my tutorials I like to put it in my desktop for easy access. To start downloading the NEM nanowallet we go this this website link and download the NEM nanowallet file. Just follow the screenshots below.

1.png

Once the file is done downloading press "CTRL+J" to access the download page of Chrome. If you are using a different browser this might not work. just go to the default download folder of your browser.

1 download.png

Once we are in the download page we look for the file named "NanoWallet-2.0.14-win64" and open it.

2 download.png

After opening the compressed files we will see on folder named "NanoWallet-2.0.14-win64" This is the folder we need to extract to Desktop. You can extract it anywhere you can access it, I just like putting it on desktop for convenience and easy access.

3 uncompressed folder.png

Once you have extracted the folder in desktop we open it and find the "NanoWallet" executable file and run it as shown in the picture below.

4 open wallet.png

This is the main dashboard of the NEM nanowallet. To start the process of creating the NEM wallet we click on "sign up" button located at the top right of the main dashboard.

5 create account.png

After clicking on "sign up" button it will take you to the selection type of wallet to create. We need to click on the "Simple wallet" as we have not yet created any before. The "Private key Wallet" is used when we already have one and we want to import the wallet. Just follow the instructions shown below.

6 create account.png

After pressing the "simple wallet button" a confirmation window will be shown as shown below this is to confirm that you are creating a simple wallet and you are ready to proceed. Just click on the "ready" button to continue on the wallet creation.

7 create account.png

The next page will ask you what network you like to create your wallet on. Select "Main" as it is the real network of NEM. Other networks are used for testing and developers.

8 create account.png

After selecting the network we are going to use, we input the desired name of the wallet as shown below. For this demonstration I choose to name my wallet "ankarlie" then click on "next button" for the next procedure.

9 create account.png

Now we input the desired password for the wallet then press "next" button to proceed to the next process. Just follow the instructions shown at the screenshot shown below.

10 create account.png

The next page will inform you that it is about to create your primary private key. You can start this by clicking on the "start" button. Once clicked move the cursor of your mouse to increase the entropy (randomness) of your primary private key.

11 create account.png

Just wait until the primary private key generation finishes. Once finished it will show you the page below. Just click on the "Next" button to proceed.

12 create account.png

This page is a reminder to keep all passwords, primary keys and pass phrases secured. Just click on the "understood" button to continue.

13 create account.png

After clicking on the "understood button this will bring us to the "account safety protocol" page. Just follow the following screenshots I will show you how to download the .wlt file. This file is important so please secure it as soon as you are able to download it. We nee this file if and when we want to recover our nanowallet.

14 create account.png

15 create account.png

Once the file is downloaded go to the file and save it somewhere safe and where you can access whenever you need to recover your wallet.

16 create account.png

Now go back to the "account safety protocol" page and click on the "I have my wallet file" button to proceed.

17 create account.png

After clicking the "I have my wallet file" button you will be presented with this page below.

18 create account.png

Click on the "show private key" as shown above. This will reveal the private key as shown below.

19 create account.png

Copy the private key to a notepad and save it somewhere safe. after saving it click on "I have private key and password" button. The private key we are referring to is the key we just saved in notepad. The password is the one we inputted for the creation of the password here is a screenshot.

20 create account.png

The next page is a reminder telling you to make sure that you have the following:
A. Private Key
B. Wallet Password
C. Wallet file backup

To continue just click on the "I Agree" button as shown below.

21 create account.png

Upon clicking the "I Agree" button it will bring us to the page shown below.

23 login.png

Enter the credentials of the wallet we have just created as shown above. This will bring us to the main dashboard of the wallet itself. Click on the "Account" menu tab at the top right to view you account information and your NEM nanowallet address.

24 login.png

Once you click the "Account" menu tab it will bring you to the page shown below.

25 login.png

Success! We have installed and setup our NEM nanowallet.

How to harvest NEM

In this section I will show you how to harvest NEM. There is only one additional requirement if we are going to harvest NEM. You need at least 10,000 NEM in the wallet. Unfortunately I don't have such money I am just showing you how to activate it.

26 Alogin.png

To start the process in the main dashboard of the wallet click on the "services" menu tab as shown above. This will bring you to the page below. Click on the "manage the delegated account" link under the delegated harvesting section.

26 login.png

Upon clicking on the "Manage Delegated Account" link it will bring you to the Manage Delegated Account page as shown below.

27 login.png

Click on the "Activate/Deactivate Delegated Account" this will ask us to input the password of the NEM nanowallet. Input the password and click on "Send" to to activate the harvesting.

28 login.png

Done! It will start harvesting NEM. That is it for now guys I hope you found my tutorial easy to follow and useful. Until next time bye!
