Why?
As a designer who recently joined Steemit I was analysing the interface trying out plugins and different frontends, looking into many dark corners and found out this one thing I am suggesting is actually an important feature I missed having myself while I started exploring the platform and getting to know people making important decision about - “who to follow?”
Taking under consideration the principles of practicality and the fact it is still a beta version, new features suggestions should be first of all easy to implement. In this case benefits in comparison to the effort are significant. I will explain why:
Components
Digging to find an intro post of particular user can be hard for some people.
So I suggest implementing a link in the main profile tab that will link to the person intro post.
It would be easily accessible and can help get to know the other person so much better!
Steemit is a platform focused on interactions and making connections. But people usually do not follow random people and even when they encounter an interesting post they would like to get to know a new person at least a little bit more. And giving them an instant access to peeple intro posts can be a really useful improvement.
Benefits - How would it be useful?
Mockups / Examples
It could be named Intro post or preferably just simply About since it is even more intuitive indicates that there is more to know about this person.
I took under consideration the technical aspects of implementing this feature so I will suggest adding additional input on the Settings page so the user can paste the link to their introduction post and it can be added to the tab as a link which might be easier to implement than a fancy way of detecting if a given user posted a post tagged with an #introduceyourself tag and hooking it in the tab.
While there is no post assigned to the link, the visitor will be prompted with the message:
If the owner access the link, will be reminded about doing so or just encouraged to write one if he hasn’t so far.
This is something I miss a lot also considering all the usability principles especially those regarding social media platforms. While keeping in mind basic values like transparency that Steemit promotes, this feature seems like the one that everybody will benefit from.

@tykee Thanks for information. I think that the suggestion You mentioned is quite different (the idea might be similar but the way to achieve it and technical aspects differ significantly) and mine could really have a chance to work out. But I understand You have certain rules to obey. Cheers!
