I'm not sure about the final result but I like the idea that you played with font to combine with logo-mark. It can seen like small detail but it provides unity on logo design.

I'm a little far from this type of project, but I understood your idea behind the logo design. Also, it's nice to see you support a under developing project.

Next time you can provide the ready to use files in different size. Project owner can use it as icon or favicon (ldpi, mdpi, hdpi, etc).
