Number of followers, posts, and following on SteemDB is Inaccurate

in utopian-io •  7 years ago  (edited)

Expected behavior

When viewing the number of followers, posts, and following users a user has on SteemDB it should accurately reflect the number the user has.

Actual behavior

When I look at the numbers I have on SteemDB, they are less that what Steemit.com shows.
SteemDB
Steemit
Here's the same thing for another account (name removed):
SteemDB
Steemit

How to reproduce

  • Go to SteemDB
  • Append /@your_account_name to the URL OR type your account name in the search bar and go to your page
  • View your profile on Steemit
  • Notice that the number of followers, posts, and following users on SteemDB doesn't reflect the number on Steemit

Other Information

  • Browser: Chrome, Safari
  • Operating system: Mac OS X

This is not actually a bug - steemdb works with account snapshots which means the data you see may not be up to date every time.

See the sidebar:

That means my account data is 13 hours old and may not include my latest followers.
