Steemit is a social networking and blogging website. The website is currently good but it can be improved upon.
Proposal
Currently, steemit does not allow notification when a user is mentioned by other users. I would propose that this be made available by adding notification for mention as a menu as it has several benefits.

Benefits
a. A social networking platform provides room for great interaction and connectivity among its users. Adding notification of mention as a menu that notifies user when they are mentioned would give greater room for interaction and connectivity.
b. Steemit is also a platform content creation. If notification for mention is implemented, users would know the contents that other users love and consume more and they would create more of this type of content.

Yes, a browser notification would be useful. There is an app called Steemify by @blockbrothers which send you notifications like the one you are suggesting. But it would be great to have something similar built into the Steemit web application.
