Project Details
Node.js is an open-source, cross-platform JavaScript run-time environment that executes JavaScript code outside of a browser... Node.js allows the creation of Web servers and networking tools using JavaScript and a collection of "modules" that handle various core functionality... Node.js represents a "JavaScript everywhere" paradigm, unifying web application development around a single programming language, rather than different languages for server-side and client-side scripts. | Source
In simple words, this project brings value to the open-source community because it facilitates the creation of all sort of applications using JavaScript, and provides a lot of help and versatility to developers, so much so that well-known companies like Netflix, Paypal, and Uber (among many others) use Node for their online services.
Since Node.js is very easy to learn and it provides a lot of benefits for developers, there is a huge community of people involved with it, which is one of the reasons why this project is available to be translated into several languages (in crowdin, one of the best translation platforms in the web, this project is available to be translated into 33 different languages, Spanish is the one corresponding to this contribution), the ultimate goal of translating Node.js is to make it easier for developers from any country to start learning about this project in their own native language.
If you want to know more about Node.js feel free to visit its website.

Contribution Specifications
- Translation Overview
This is my 80# contribution to Node.js. This project is currently 74% translated for the Spanish language. The content I have been translating for my contributions is mainly related to the changelogs. This information is very important because it informs about every single change that was previously applied in past Node.js’ versions.
It is important to notice that this software is constantly being updated because it has a very active development community that is always working together to figure out which new innovations and improvements should be applied to keep this tool always updated with the latest trends.
This collaboration is possible because Node.js is open source, which allows developers from all over the world to have access to the code, and discover bugs or little issues that need a fix. This way everyone that is interested in this project and has enough technical skills can contribute to the development of future features and improvements.
Below we can see a few examples of the instructions I translated.
English
remove unnecessary parameter
Spanish
remover parámetro innecesario
It is necessary to remove every useless element from the software because this can help in maintaining high efficiency. Besides, keeping elements that are of no use can make the software more cluttered and messy.
English
fix incorrect macro comment
Spanish
corregir comentario macro incorrecto
A developer discovered there was a mistake in a particular macro comment, so he decided to share the solution for this little issue with the community. Eventually, said solution was applied and everything was fixed.
English
do proper StringBytes error handling
Spanish
hacer un manejo apropiado de errores de StringBytes
This particular type of error was being handled in a sub-optimal way, and a developer decided to elaborate a solution, and publish it through the GitHub platform. This change included a lot of instructions that can be found here.

Source language: English
Translated language: Spanish
I have made several contributions in the past, and I published a series of articles in both languages. I am also part of the Utopian + DaVinci Spanish team.
- Word Count
The word count of this contribution is the number of words translated after subtracting words that aren’t changed, such as names, links, functions.
Part 80: 1208 words
The total numbers of words includes every word in the final translated strings, including those that aren’t actually translated, such as names, links, functions.

Greetings @dedicatedguy,
Congratulations on a new contribution!
This is a very interesting project that contains many code values and terms related to computer science. Its difficulty relies on the fact that we must pay a lot of attention to the code in order to deliver the most accurate translation possible.
The overall presentation of your post is great! It is well written and formatted, includes all the basic details, useful examples and concepts.
You delivered an accurate translation. You used the correct vocabulary and you were careful with code values that should not be translated in order to make sure the text keeps its true meaning.
I'm looking forward to your next contribution.
