Suggestion to Steem Rocks to add node change and runtime activity update feature

in utopian-io •  7 years ago  (edited)

Components

The STEEM explorer Steem Rocks website provide us our activity log on steemit.
Its a open sourced website.

Visit the site here- https://steem.rocks

Github repo- https://github.com/emre/steemrocks

Proposal

My proposal to steem rocks to make the site more stable and comfortable for the user-

  • i) Node changing feature

  • ii) Runtime activity update

Mockups / Examples

If the node changing feature, it will looks like the picture. I have just shown an example. Developer can place it any where with any design

Screenshot_1.png

clicking on the arrow sign will show up all of the available nodes for steem. Developer can add more node or can add another node. I have shown example.

And my next suggestion is run time activity update feature. which can not be shown through picture. Screenshot_2.png

These are my activity on steem rocks. But if any change happen in my activity it will not show untill you reload the page. Adding runtime update feature will automatically update the activity without reloading the page

Benefits

  • We user know that sometime steemit node goes down or other nodes goes down for sometime. If steem rocks using that node , it will be unable to show our activity. If the site add node changing feature, user can select other node and the site will be able to give us 24 hour service.

  • We need to click refresh button every time for the update on steem rocks website which is very tedious for us. If the run time feature added it will automatically update our activity log and we need ot to click refresh every time. This feature will make the site comfortable for the user.

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestions.

Regarding the first issue, steem.rocks doesn't work like other similar interfaces. It has a backend and node selection is backend's responsibility.

Regarding auto-update, that would be a nice-to-have. Too much work are on the backlog until doing this kind of thing, though.

Your contribution can not be approved.

  • As the PO told you (check emrebeyler's comment), the first suggestion is not aplicable and the second one is too generic and won't be implemented in the near future.
