Abuses in the world of contests: @moncia90 case

in utopian-io •  6 years ago  (edited)
An intense week in the anti-abuse tag. I became very fond of the cases of abuse in the world of contest and photography. It so happens that, that very often these two areas are connected.

Such as in the case of @petervi and @magnata that with her 3 accounts @serkagan, @aleks433 and @megafart.

I refer you to these links 1-2 where you will find the various cases.

Today I would like to talk about another very interesting case @moncia90. I noticed a great activity about the content and its participation on the platform I didn't notice anything strange. But at a certain point, reading among the comments I noticed this:

After noticing this repetition of names, I went to see what these tags were due to.

Ok ... So let's talk about this contest in which to participate you have to tag two users on the platform. This is because the contest author intends to divulge and make his initiative known. In this way more and more people will be able to participate, and consequently it started to grow.

But back to @moncia90. His idea was to tag inactive users on the platform. With the aim of being active in the eyes of the contest owner, and at the same time increasing his chances of winning. In this way, in the eyes of the contest creator(@goldmonkey), it will seem that he is actually participating in an active manner, but in reality we can call this a scam ...

I don't want to tag the account owners again, but I leave their names here, so you can see for yourself.

After I discovered @moncia90's modus operandi.

He used the same attitude, also with regard to the contests within @steemmonsters

@self-track contest.

Honestly I thought they ended up here... but... in @steemcryptosicko's contest

I'm really sorry for all the users who try to bring new initiatives on the platform...

The user @moncia90 has reiterated a fraudulent behavior towards the organizers of the competitions/contests and towards all the users of Steem. He used their accounts for his purposes and to be able to monetize later with the prizes of the competition. This act is even more serious if we consider the fact that @moncia90, in its shady strategy, has used the identities of inactive users that if having won would have made no use of the votes/cards/etc. and taking the prize instead of one of the active users who participated in these contests. By interpreting it on an ongoing basis and reiterating it over time, only to obtain a monetary profit. A true strategy founded scientifically on dirty basis that go against common and expected good costumes and morals.

The fact it was communicated personally to the administrators of the Italian community. Consequently, the roles he had within the Italian community are removed

Now from how you can see his attitude was serial, so we're not talking about a simple mistake ...
I also noticed that @moncia90 is curator in the @OCD community. I'm now curious to know what the mod @acidyo thinks about it.

Abuse of others is really something dishonest. Should be excluded from the platform.

After our report the user confessed his abuse, within the Italian community

That user is not a curator of OCD anymore but not because of these reasons.
