Bold and italic features not working

Expected behavior

I expect that when typing a post and I highlight a word or a sentence so as to make such bold or to make it to appear in italic, such word or sentence should be bolded on the click of Bold key ,and or italics applied at the click of the italic key from the text formatting box

Actual behavior

When typing a post, I highlighted a word and click on bold, instead of bolding the highlighted word, it added a bold 'bold' to the text I am typing. The same thing applies to italic when I wanted to add italic to a word.

How to reproduce

• Download Esteem version 1.6.0 from google play store , install and run

• login with your Steemit username and the required login key

• click on add a new post botton that is buttom right hand side of the app, it looks like a pen in a blue cycle.

• type a word or sentence, highlight a word from what you type, ten apply bold by clicking on the (B) bold icon in the formatting box just above the phone's keyboard. Do same for italic.

• the bug will reproduce

• Browser: Esteem version 1.6.0

• Operating system: android 5.1.1 lollipop. Infinix hot 3 LTE
