UC Web embeds VP9 Codecs that have been applied on YouTube to compress video file sizes up to half.

UC Browser 12.0 also supports the QUIC protocol as well as MSE that is able to help stream video optimization.

UC Web party claims a myriad of new features can make the video viewing experience even more fun, even through a smartphone with a capacity of less than 2 GB of RAM though

On February 1, 2018, UC Web officially released the latest UC Browser version 12.0 update for mobile device users in Indonesia. Of some of the latest features embedded, one of the most interesting is the No Buffering feature for users who play videos online in the browser.

According to Shalila Li who is Head of International Business Section of UC Browser Alibaba Mobile Business Group, No Buffering feature they mean here is UC Browser 12.0 has supported video format with VP9 codecode. VP9 is a technology developed by Google and has been largely implemented on the YouTube platform

VP9 technology can reduce the size of video files by half, without reducing the video quality. If a user can usually only get 480p video quality because the internet network is not too good, with this technology the user is claimed to get 720p video quality with the same network

To maximize VP9 technology in UC Browser 12.0, UCWeb also immerses the QUIC protocol (Quick UDP Internet Connections) which improves bandwidth efficiency. The QUIC protocol enables the browser to perform better and faster, even under poor Internet network conditions
