I would be giving my honest review on this Decentralized Application(DApp) that currently sits at number 27 on the State of the DApps Media Category ranking. What Is KnackSteem

KnackSteem is a Decentralized Application that is built on the Steem blockchain. It is a DApp that is dedicated in rewarding talented individuals from across the world. It is a platform that helps to provide an opportunity for talented individuals to showcase their talents/skills, be it, singing, dancing, magic, archery, anything that is cool and unique, to the world and get rewarded for it, with crypto tokens.

KnackSteem rewards talented individuals with it's platform token called Knack Token(KNT). The tokens can be easily traded for fiat or for other crypto tokens. Since, KnackSteem is on the Steem blcokchain and connected to a particular DApp within the Steem blockchain, called Steemit, a decentralized application within the Steem blockchain/network that rewards content creators with it's platform's cryptocurrency tokens called Steem and Steemdollars a.k.a SBD, therefore talented individuals are also rewarded in Steem, which is already a major token in the crypto exchange market and it is currently worth about $0.46.

The platform was built by a Steemian(Steemit member) with great background in blockchain technology and has a lot of experience on the Steem blockchain. He is currently an Utopian manager and a Curie curator, which makes him very knowledgeable in creating a platform that rewards skills and talent. The project owner of Knacksteem is, @knowledges and with him as the head of this awesome project, the future of the project is very bright.

The main goal of Knacksteem, is to create an utopian community of talented individuals. And as a result of that, the platform have 9 skills categories for talented individuals and they include;

With these different categories listed above, talented individuals can easily interact with those that are in same category as them, and that would help them all grow together. I'm a bit, talented in music production, let's now imagine, I notice an incredible singer in the music category, we interact in the community Discord. There is high possibility of us, doing a collaboration together and by doing that, our level of experience has increased greatly in our fields, and also we would have created something unique, a track, and that would be as a result of Knacksteem. That is just an example of what Knacksteem is all about. Rewarding talent and creating a utopian community for talents.

From the name of the platform, it implies that, the platform was built for individuals who has the knack of show casing their talents and skills. Although, not everyone would get rewarded, because if everyone should be rewarded, the platform won't be as valued as it is now. As a result of that, the platform has a "Moderation" section, that helps in assessing the quality of contributions by the talented individuals and scoring them from 0 - 100, whereby outstanding contributions stands a chance of earning 250 Knack Tokens, whereby enforcing only quality contributions within the platform. The platform also has a "Guideline" section, that guides contributors on different categories, on the standard required from them.

How Can I Get Started?

It's quite simple, but first, you have to create a Steemit account by signing up through Steemit, Steem.ninja or Steemhunt Steem account creation interface. Among those 3, I would recommend signing up via @Steemhunt, as they would delegate 15 SP to you for a month and it is faster and easier. After you created your Steemit account, you go straight to Knacksteem. When you are there, you click on "Login" which is at the top right corner of the home page.

It would redirect you to Steemconnect, a sub-app within the Steem blockchain, that helps to secure your private keys, as you login to DApps within the Steem blockchain. Make sure you NEVER key in, your Master Key.

After that, you would be logged in on Knacksteem. You can make your contribution by clicking on the "Edit Pencil" on the top right corner of the page and that would take you to where you would be able to write contribution.

After you have written your unique contribution, you should then click on "Post" and voila, your contribution is published. And that's all. Make your unique contribution of your awesome talent/skill, and get rewarded and also gain followers or fans.

Conclusion

The Knacksteem is an awesome project, that seeks to reward talented individuals. The project owner, is someone I know, and I know he has the expertise to make this project a great one, in the future. The platform has a very easy interface, which makes it easy for almost everyone to navigate through the platform, easily. I personally like the background display of the platform.

But on the other side, the platform still got a lot of stuffs to work on. The categories listed would limit contributions by talented contributors, as it doesn't provide the opportunity of ball joggers, swimmers, chefs, archers, skaters, mountain climbers and lots more, to showcase their talents and skills in their fields. I would suggest they make a 10th category, titled "Others", so that, contributors who doesn't fall under the 9 stated categories can still contribute their talents and skills. I know it is a new project, but having just one moderator isn't good for the platform. The filter button and categories features doesn't respond properly. I would lastly suggest that, there should be more active promotion of this unique project. I just got to know of this project about 5 days ago from a tweet.
