Addition of Unread, starred and fresh Articles, categories for world, health, business and weather feed.

Components

Iven News Reader is an open source app for feed related to all sectors of the world. It is a light and modern app for feed reading. This app however has no filters for feed related to different fields. There are no filters for unread or fresh feeds. In this suggestion I am suggesting some filters related to the news feed, to make the app more useful for the user. Lack of features is making this app very basic.

Proposal

The ideas which I am suggesting for this app will consist of some new features. These features will be explained below briefly.

1. Unread Articles

There should be an option for feed which is not read by the user. Unread article feature will help the user to know what feed he has missed on. This filter should be added to let a know know about the news he has not read about.

2. Starred Articles

Starred Articles itself suggests by the name that these are the articles which are liked by the users and are favourited or starred. This feature keeps the feed which has been starred by user, thus making the access to such feed relatively easier.

3. Fresh Articles

Fresh articles are the articles which relatively new. Unread Articles include all the unread articles while fresh articles include articles which are unread and at the same time which are new. So a filter for fresh articles should be added.

4. World

To get the news feed of whole world we should have this feature. Usually news readers include local news as priority but having this filter will help the user to get the feed related to the world in a single click.

5. Health

For news related to the heath a new category has to be included which can add feed related to Health. Health is a very basic feature and should not be missed on. People like to read and be cautious about health.

6. Business

Any news feed without business related feed is no feed. Business as we know is something people love to read about. The ideas, investments, business deals are some traits of reading this feed. A feature for business feed should be included.

7. Weather

One more filter which is missing in the app is the weather field. Weather forecasting has become an important part of our lives and without it an app will not be preferred over other apps. A weather feed should be included.

The benefits of these features will be stated below.

• Unread Articles gives the user a field where he knows what articles he has not read and also the count of the unread articles.

• Starred Articles will help to put the favourite or important articles in group. This feature will also give the count of the starred articles.

• Fresh Articles will help the user to get access to fresh articles only. The news feed which is comparatively new is included in this feed.

• The category of the World will give us articles related to the world. The news articles which are trending all across the world and not only our home location only.

• Health category will help the user to get on touch with the articles which are related to the health. These mostly include the articles related to living a healthy life by choosing health food and lifestyle.

• Every kind of news reader app os incomplete without the category for business feed. Business is important part for the existence of the Life and World. It is the most read genre and should be included.

• Weather Forecasting is an important category, It tells about the weather and climatic changes in the future. People read it everyday, A category for this feature should be included.
