Shows Your Own Device On Trying To Transfer Files After Changing Your Device Name

in utopian-io •  7 years ago  (edited)

Expected behavior

The app should show other devices connected to the network and not my own device to which the files can be transferred.

Actual behavior

But the app shows my own device on changing the name and scanning for devices to transfer files.

How to reproduce

  1. Install the app from F-Droid and launch it.
  2. Click on the arrow on bottom right corner of the app and select files to see if there are any devices available.
  3. Now change the name of you device from settings.
  4. Again click on the upward arrow from bottom right corner of the app and select files to scan the nearby devices. It will show your previous device names.
  • App Version: 0.4.0.38
  • Device: Samsung Galaxy J5
  • Operating System: Android 6.0.1

Although I can replicate the issue your contribution cannot be approved because you have not included an application version number within this contribution.

Within the Utopian Rules it states submissions must refer to bugs on the latest released version of the application (not older versions). You didn't provide an application version number which means that I am unable to confirm if you're submission was tested on the latest version of the application. It is important that you provide details surrounding the application version number within your contribution. As per the Utopian Rules:

Submissions must Include information about the debugging technical environment such as Device, Operating System, Browser and Application versions used.
