Summary / Details
In my first study in Analysis part of Utopian I would like to collect information and share with you my analysis about best times to post on Steemit. So my main question is "When to post to earn more?" Like every website Steemit has various number of visitors from different countries at different times during a day. I thought that getting one week as sample data and investigating total earnings of posts on each hour for each day is logical. This is what I did in this analysis.
Outline
The analysis will cover these points in this analysis.
- Total Payments of Posts for each Hour Daily between Jan 29 - Feb 4
- Total Payments of Posts for each Hour for one Week
Tools & Work Details
Scope of Analysis
Timeframe of my data is the interval Jan 29 - Feb 4. It is the nearest week which has not got any pending payout
.
Tools
I used DBeaver which is an universal SQL client. It is free multi-platform database tool for developers, SQL programmers, database administrators and analysts. I connected to SteemSQL which is a publicly available Microsoft SQL database containing all the Steem blockchain data.
After connection I created data for each day usign the code below. I take the list of all posts which has any payout - payout is bigger than 0 (any up-vote in our specific example). I took data of created (which states when did the post or comment is created) and total_payout_value.
[created] > '2018-02-01 00:00:00' and [created] < '2018-02-02 00:00:00' and total_payout_value > 0
After I fetch tables using the code. I created Google Drive documents (spreadsheets) for each day and copy all data to those documents to create tables on it and to share all my work with you using Google Drive links you can find in results section.
Results
In each result under Hour section 0 states for GMT 00:00-01:00, 1 states for GMT 01:00-02:00, 2 states for 02:00-03:00 and goes on.

Conculusion
GMT 13:00-20:00 is important
What I got from my analysis GMT 13:00-20:00 is the best time interval to post on Steemit if you are targeting world-wide (your post's language is English). This time interval is intersection for people in both Europe and US.
GMT 15:00-16:00 and 18:00-19:00 lucky time intervals
For being more specific if you post between 15:00-16:00 and 18:00-19:00 you have better chance to earn more according to my analysis.
Sunday is not best option
Also sunday is not best option if you can also plan to change your day for posting. This might be reasoned that many people on Steem community has work with computers during their daily life however sunday is weekend and holiday for almost all countries.
